Britney Spears breaks silence after Sam Asghari files for divorce in bizarre horse post

Following the news of her alleged split from husband Sam Asghari, Britney Spears has broken her silence by sharing a bizarre post to Instagram.

The pop princess didn't reference her reported romantic turmoil to her 42.1M followers, but instead decided to share her decision to buy horse – explaining how difficult it was to choose one.

Posting a horseback picture of herself riding on the beach, the star shared the snap on the same day that Sam allegedly filed for divorce officially, according to ET.

She wrote: "Buying a horse soon !!! So many options it’s kinda hard !!! A horse called Sophie and another called Roar ??? I can’t make up my mind !!!

"Should I join the camaraderie and put a pink cowboy hat on ??? Either way I think I found my sweet spot with Roar !!!"

Meanwhile, Sam has not shared anything to his account since August 8, keeping tight lipped.

The news of their alleged split was broken by TMZ on Wednesday 16 August, with an apparent 'nuclear row' causing them to call time on the relationship.

The row is said to have been started when Sam confronted Britney about cheating rumours; it is not known whether these are true. And just hours after the split came to light, ET reported that Sam had officially filed for divorce, citing 'irreconcilable differences' and sharing that they split on July 28.

It appears that the divorce, if true, won't be smooth sailing either, as Sam appears to be hoping to bag more than his pre-agreed prenup – allegedly threatening to go public with 'embarrassing information about Britney' unless he gets more cash.

He is attempting to negotiate concessions beyond his prenup and threatening to go public with extraordinarily embarrassing information about Britney unless he gets paid," a source told Page Six.

However, other sources claim that this will 'never happen' from Britney's side. The prenup, which he signed ahead of their wedding in June 2022 and after six years together, keeps Britney's assets as separate property, not marital assets.

According to TMZ, Sam's lawyer Neal Hersh is hinting that the hunk may contest this agreement. The outlet revealed that the divorce filing states: "[Sam] has yet to determine the full nature and extent of the separate property and assets and obligations of each party."

It also says: "There are various items of community and quasi-community assets and debts, the full nature and extent of which are unknown to [Sam] at this time."
