Brooklyn Beckham, 23, appeared to be in extreme discomfort as he tried his hand in the one chip challenge on Instagram in view of his 14.5 million followers. David and Victoria Beckham’s eldest son could be seen tearing up as he tried to eat one of Paqui’s tortilla chips, which are coated in very hot seasoning.
The aim of the spicy challenge is to wait as long as possible before eating or drinking anything.
The chip in question is seasoned with the world’s hottest chilli pepper the Carolina Reaper, with Paqui’s website advising customers to keep the chips out of reach of children, and to seek medical assistance if eating them causes nausea, fainting, or difficulty breathing.
While the rules state you should wait as long as possible without drinking anything after eating the chip, Brooklyn played it safe with a glass of milk.
The aspiring chef posted a video of himself struggling to digest the chip as he tried to wash it down with some milk.
Uploading a self-recorded video, Brooklyn simply stated: “Did it x”
However, fans shared concern for the Beckham clan member as some pointed out the so-called “one chip challenge” was not as innocent as it seemed.
Mimi.ladyhawk added: “You should be setting an example on social media and not showing something that has landed more than a few in hospital!!!”
Be_water_history_matters typed: “Wise people please don’t do it. Brooklyn you’re starting a dangerous trend remember you have kids following too! Only a thought!”
Iamchrislockwood commented: “Give us a follow up video… Hope all panned out alright pal.”
Meanwhile, Brooklyn has been enjoying marital bliss after his highly-publicised wedding to billionaire heiress Nicola Peltz earlier this year.
He recently spoke out on his marriage and new wife as he reflected on their future together.
The budding chef said he “can’t wait to be a dad” and that he hopes they will one day have their own reality TV show.

He admitted, however, the only thing stopping him from starting a family now is the wait for his other half to decide she is ready for children.
In a candid interview, Brooklyn, clearly smitten with his new wife, said he frequently discusses parenthood with Nicola.
He said: “I keep saying to my wife, I can’t wait to be a dad.
“I’m ready to have kids, but I always tell my wife, whenever you want,” he concluded to Variety.
Nicola clarified in the interview with the same publication they don’t plan to have a family “any time in the next year” but would love to “have a big family”.
Brooklyn went on to confess his dreams alongside Nicola go beyond simply having children and he would love to do a reality TV show with his wife.
The star revealed: “I’ve always said to my wife, we should actually do a reality TV show, because she’s so funny.
“And we take the p*** out of each other all the time. She sometimes doesn’t get my English humour.”
