Bruce Willis’ daughter Scout ’emotional’ as she speaks on response to dad’s diagnosis

Bruce Willis' daughter Scout has opened up on the response her family has received following the news of her dad's frontotemporal dementia diagnosis.

The Hollywood actor, 67, who shares Scout, Rumer and Tallulah with his ex Demi Moore and two daughters with his wife Emma Haming Willis, retired from acting last year after being diagnosed with aphasia – a condition which has affected his cognitive abilities.

But doctors have since informed the family that he has an uncommon type of dementia that, according to the NHS, causes problems with behaviour and language.

Now, Bruce's daughter Scout has shared a message to express her gratitude at the support her father and family have received.

Bundled up in a black jumper with a brown bear-style hood in a selfie, she told fans: "Feeling emotionally tired and a bit overwhelmed, yet also very in awe of the love so many people have for my Papa".

Her sister Tallulah reposted this, adding: "Second this Scouter. Feeling the abundant love for our guy and our family."

While their third sister Rumer, who is currently pregnant with her first child, added: "I third this Scouter and Buusk. Feeling so deeply grateful and in awe of the love for us and our sweet Daddio."

The family posted a statement to announce the news of his diagnosis on 17 February, which read: "Our family wanted to start by expressing our deepest gratitude for the incredible outpouring of love, support and wonderful stories we have all received since sharing Bruce’s original diagnosis.

"In the spirit of that, we wanted to give you an update about our beloved husband, father and friend since we now have a deeper understanding of what he is experiencing.

"Since we announced Bruce’s diagnosis of aphasia in spring 2022, Bruce’s condition has progressed and we now have a more specific diagnosis: frontotemporal dementia (known as FTD).

"Unfortunately, challenges with communication are just one symptom of the disease Bruce faces. While this is painful, it is a relief to finally have a clear diagnosis.

Fans were quick to share their support and love for the family with one person writing: "Sending prayers to him and your entire family" with two heart emojis.

A different account put: "So much love and respect for sharing this very personal news . Love and blessings @demimoore @scoutlaruewillis @buuski @rumerwillis."

Another follower wrote: "Holding you and your family in love and light."

While a different fan added: "@demimoore thinking of all of you. Sending so much love, strength and light your way. @emmahemingwillis love you all ."
