Carol Vorderman calls on Suella Braverman to resign as she states ‘I am ashamed’

Carol Vorderman slammed for throwing tantrum over Tory party

Carol Vorderman has furiously confronted Suella Braverman over the latest migrant deaths and called for her to resign.

Taking to Instagram, the 62-year-old ex-Countdown star blasted that she was “ashamed” of her and the Conservative Government in the wake of the incident and that she felt she was “utterly undeserving” of her role.

She’d been responding to a message Suella had written sharing her condolences over the deaths.

“My thoughts and prayers are with those affected by the tragic loss of life in the Channel today,” the Home Secretary had written.

“This morning I spoke with our Border Force teams, who have been supporting the French authorities in response to this incident.”

However, Carol hit back at the comment, telling her in view of her 395,000 followers: “You are the very worst of the worst, utterly undeserving of the position you hold.

“You decry everything that has been good in this country during my lifetime, seeking to cause division at every time.”

In no uncertain terms, the fuming This Morning star concluded: “I am ashamed of you and the govt in which you self-serve.”

Carol also had angry words to share about the Bibby Stockholm crisis, after the boat was evacuated amid fears of Legionella bacteria.

No migrants were found to have become ill, but exposure to the bacteria can cause Legionnaires’ disease – a dangerous type of lung infection.

Carol wrote: “After her rhetoric and policies, boarding refugees onto Bibby Stockholm apparently before health and safety results which showed Legionella bacteria, and the tragic loss of life yesterday, Braverman should resign.

“In any other govt in my lifetime, that would have happened by now.”

Carol, who frequently speaks out with passionate political views, has also said she is “counting down until the next election”.

The Home Office confirmed on Friday that all 39 migrants had been removed from Bibby Stockholm as a “precautionary measure”, and stated that they are being provided with “appropriate advice and support”.

Labour’s shadow immigration minister Stephen Kinnock claimed it was “extraordinary” that migrants had been moved onto the barge before the results of health and safety tests had been received.

In his own statement, he told Sky News: “It’s absolutely right that the barge has to be evacuated but what a complete and utter shambles.

“This is a catalogue of catastrophe and government ministers should hang their heads in shame.”

However, a spokesperson for the Home Office stated that the health and welfare of those on board the vessel “is our utmost priority”.
