Love Island heartthrob Adam Collard is currently making waves on the hit show Celebs Go Dating, where he's taken the opportunity to share his journey of personal transformation.
During his time on the show, he has candidly discussed his dating experiences, delved into his childhood, and reflected on the path that led him to his present self.
In a recent episode, the show's dating experts embarked on a quest to unravel the intricacies of Adam's approach to relationships. They aimed to uncover whether his current behaviour towards women had roots in his past experiences or childhood dynamics.
Adam openly revealed that he underwent a significant physical transformation during his school days, driven by his dissatisfaction with his appearance.
Reflecting on his teenage years, Adam acknowledged that he was "a little bit overweight" during school and described himself as "really quiet and a total mummy’s boy." He admitted: "I didn’t really have that much confidence in the way I looked. I didn’t like it."
During a conversation with expert Paul C Brunson, Adam admitted feeling like "the ugly duckling".
Adam shared: “I had a bit of a rough ride in my teenage years.” He divulged that he was subject to teasing in school, an experience that had a significant impact on him at the time.
The Love Island star added: ““Little bit overweight, wasn’t confident. I feel like it’s something that’s definitely affected me. I feel like my defence mechanism is this kind of confidence, charisma, kind of fuck boy image if I’m honest.”
However, it was during his transition from sixth form to university that he underwent a dramatic body transformation, evolving into the confident Adam Collard we now see on our screens.
This transformation wasn't solely physical; it also had a profound effect on Adam's self-assurance. He expressed that since his transformation, he embraced a newfound sense of confidence that has propelled him forward.
With honesty, Adam recognised that he might not have fully grasped the emotional connections that some women formed with him when he hadn't reciprocated the same feelings.
Beyond his television appearances on Love Island and Celebs Go Dating, Adam has established himself as a personal trainer. His social media accounts now showcase workout videos and gym-related content, promoting his fitness business.
He openly disclosed that he returned to Love Island partly to bolster his gym venture and expand by acquiring a second venue.
Now his romance with co star Lottie Moss appears to be heating up, with the pair filmed sharing a kiss in Tuesday night's episode of Celebs Go Dating.
The pair's brief fling was revealed to their fellow celebs during a recent episode, with both claiming they had no intention of pursuing the romance any further – however, they appear to have had something of a change of heart.
