Charlene White revealed that her Loose Women colleague Tom Sage was all set to fly to Australia, to join the production team of popular soap Neighbours.
Last year, it was announced that Channel 5 would no longer be screening the show in the UK, much to the devastation of its loyal British fanbase – but it now continues in its country of origin.
Meanwhile, the Neighbours Farewell tour is expected in the UK in March, followed by a revival via Amazon’s Freevee.
Charlene wrote on Instagram: “Last week we bid farewell to our @loosewomen Deputy Editor @tomsage1984 … and today he flies off to Australia to join the production team at @neighbours!”
She also told her 112,000 followers how much help he had been behind the scenes when she first joined the ITV show.

“It was quite the learning curve when I first joined the Loose team 3 years ago,” she reflected.
“It was unlike any show I’d ever done, and I was nervous as anything.”
However, she added: “The Loose team are something special, and Tom was there for me from the start – helping to calm nerves, giving me guidance, and just generally being a wonderful friend and boss-man.
“I’m lucky he was there to hold my hand through the amazing world that is daytime telly.”
The star passionately declared: “I can’t tell you how much we’re going to miss him. Neighbours are so lucky to have him.”
“In the meantime, I’m gonna keep WhatsApp’ing him storylines that feature a cute Black British newsreader character who’s slightly frazzled by the work/parenting life,” she cheekily added, alongside a string of tears of laughter emojis.
“Because I’m *totally* up for flying to Oz and ingratiating myself with Ramsay Street,” she concluded with a wink.
Charlene, who is well-known for her stint in I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!, uploaded a couple of photos of the pair together, including one where she planted an affectionate kiss on his cheek.
Meanwhile, one Instagrammer was all for the prospect of Charlene appearing in Neighbours.
“If Janet [Street Porter] can get a part then so can you @charlenewhite – pop career next, it’s how Kylie [Minogue] did it!” they joked.
So far, Charlene’s only public experience of going Down Under has been for I’m A Celebrity, during which time she said she felt anxious about appearing sympathetic to Matt Hancock in case it damaged her reputation for “impartiality”.
