Charles likely to offer olive branch to Harry and Meghan despite bombshell claims, royal expert says

King Charles is likely to inviteHarry andMeghan to his coronation despite claims in their bombshellNetflix documentary, a royal expert said.

Former BBC correspondent Jennie Bond said she believes the 74 year old monarch will offer an olive branch of peace to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex – in spite of the damaging accusations made during the six-part docuseries.

During the latest instalment of the show, released on Thursday morning, Harry, 38, claimed brother William"screamed and shouted" at him during a meeting about his and Meghan's future.

Harry also alleged King Charles said “things that just simply weren't true” during discussions over the couple’s request for “half in, half out” roles in the Royal Family.

The King’s coronation will take place in May next year and many commentators have speculated as to whether the Netflix series – andHarry’s upcoming memoir Spare – will have dashed the Sussexes’ hopes of an invitation.

But Ms Bond, speaking toGB News, said: “The dignified and gracious way of dealing with that is, yes, they should be invited and leave it to them whether they want to come along or whether they want to play a subdued role as they did during the Jubilee celebrations.

"I think they should be invited. I don't think Charles has been vindictive. I think he will hold out that olive branch and say, ‘Come on’.”

Ms Bond added that watching Harry & Meghan on Netflix was like witnessing a couple undergoing a therapy session.

Speaking to presenters Stephen Dixon and Anne Diamond, she added: “I suppose my question of why they were doing it was partially answered, because that's what I really wanted to know – what was their motive?

“And Meghan at the beginning said, well, we may as well tell our story ourselves…but towards the end, Harry said you can't move on to the next chapter until you've finished with the first, and I get that.

“But this kind of closure is usually carried out in a therapist's chair and in fact we did see them both undergoing therapy.

“That would be a better place for this dirty laundry to have been washed.”

She added: “I’m very happy that they are skipping happily through the sand in California and having a wonderful life. I’m truly happy actually that Harry has found peace and harmony in his life but I don't know why they had to be so vitriolic and pour so much hurt in the direction of the family over here.”

The final three episodes of Harry and Meghan’s Netflix documentary brought a new set ofbombshell revelations.

Meghan revealed it was thelate Queen and the then-Prince Charles who suggested she write to her father Thomas following their estrangement. The letter was later leaked to a national newspaper.

Harry said he believed the stress caused by the leaked letter led toMeghan suffering a devastating miscarriage.

The latest episodes, which conclude the Harry & Meghan docuseries, also featurepreviously unseen moments from their weddingalong with atreasure trove of previously unseen videos and pictures chronicling their son Archie's first milestones.
