GMB: Cher chats about her age at 77 and how she looks young

Cher has been spilling all about her romance – and has admitted she won’t be getting married to her young lover.

The relationship between Cher, 77, and Alexander Edwards, 37, has sparked major fan interest since they first started dating last October, with the four-decade age gap leaving many labelling the music exec her “boytoy” and also hitting back at her detractors.

However, it seemed the pair were a lot more serious than onlookers believed as after just two months together the 77-year-old shared a snap on X, formerly Twitter, of a huge diamond ring, cryptically saying she had “no words”.

While Cher and Alexander have been mischievously stirring fan rumours and speculation throughout their relationship, neither have said definitively whether they are actually married, although many fans believe they are not after their brief split in May.

In a new interview with the Los Angeles Times, the Believe singer was asked if she would tie the knot again after her last marriage ended in 1979.

She simply declared: “Probably not.”

The Grammy winner explained: “Because I’ve done it. I’m really happy with Alexander.”

She also clarified the large diamond, which doesn’t sit on her left ring finger but rather on her right, is “not so much” an engagement ring.

The mother-of-two recalled getting the ring from Alexander: “He just wanted to give it to me.

“Usually I wear it on my right hand because he said; ‘It’s the right ring for the right woman on the right hand.’

“I almost stopped talking to him because I went; ‘Come on, dude — you’ve done these lines in a song.’ But he just wasn’t taking no for an answer. So somehow we’re together.”

Elsewhere in the interview, the singer addressed the 40-year age difference between her and her beloved, admitting that there are some moments when she has to explain cultural references to him.

She jokingly recalled: “One time I got kind of pissed off and I said: ‘OK, you probably don’t know who Clark Gable is!’ and he said: ‘I know who Clark Gable is, baby’.”

The If I Could Turn Back Time hitmaker has been notoriously defensive about their age gap, declaring on X in a since-deleted post: “LOVE DOESN’T KNOW MATH, IT SEES.”

The music executive and the Hollywood star only recently got back together after reportedly taking a break in their relationship earlier this year.

They were spotted in September walking out of a lavish Hollywood hotspot hand-in-hand, and seemingly on a double date with rapper Tyga.

Earlier this month they made a sweet appearance at Paris Fashion Week, where they first met last year.

The latest development comes after Cher vowed to leave the USA if Donald Trump was elected back into the White House.
