Come on England! Celebs amazing show of support – from Geri Horner to Harry Kane

It's time for the Lionesses to take to the field in the Women's World Cup final against Spain.

The team have got the whole of England behind them as they attempt to make even more history.

Many famous faces are also backing the three lions to walk away as world champions on Sunday, 20 August, and head of kick-off, a montage of messages from a number of big names was been published online.

The video included messages from England men's captain Harry Kane and Spice Girls legends Geri Halliwell and Emma Bunton.

Geri, 51, told the girls: "Lionesses, we are so proud of you, Sarnia you are inspirational. Mary, girls, you've got this. Best of luck."

While Harry Kane said: "I just wanted to say best of luck for the World Cup final on Sunday: "I'll be watching. Amazing journey so far. You should be really proud of yourselves. But we are all behind you, all supporting you. We know you can do it.

"So go and get that World Cup win and bring that trophy home."

Singer Paloma Faith also wished the team well, as she said: "Wishing you, the Lionesses all the luck in the world tomorrow for the World Cup final.

"I'm right behind you. I feel so inspired and empowered by everything you are doing.

"So on behalf of all of the women in Britain, thank you. And go and get that cup. Because you deserve it, we deserve it."

Jess Glynne was also in the video as she sent her well wishes, telling the team that they have been "so amazing" throughout the tournament so far.

England men's manager Gareth Southgate told the World Cup finalists, that they know what is needed to win, as he wished them good luck.

Forty seven year old Emma Bunton told them: "We are so proud of you. I can't imagine how your family are feeling.

"Sending you so much love, all the luck in the world."


Former England international Rio Ferdinand asked the team to make him cry by beating Spain later today.

The BBC Breakfast team also sent a good luck message to the team, telling them that they know they will smash it.

Former England women's star Fara Williams told the girls that they will be spoken about for years to come following their success.

While comedian Rob Beckett told them that he knows they can do it, he can't wait to see which member of the team will end up on I'm A Celebrity later this year.

That is because after the team won the European Championships last year, midfielder Jill Scott won the ITV show.
