Coronation Street fans are in for a rollercoaster of emotional this week as – not only are the Underworld protests getting out of hand – but the Platt's are recovering following the shock news of Audrey's suicide attempt.

Last week saw workers gathering outside the undergarment factory after it emerged that Carla Connor (Alison King) turned to dodgy businessman Nadeem Atallah (Kammy Darweish) to deal with her issues sourcing the correct fabrics and deals for the company.

The police turn up and Griff – joined by Spider Nugent (Martin Hancock), Peter Barlow (Chris Gascoyne) and Toyah Battersby (Georgia Taylor) – antagonises the crowd before throwing a bottle, which hits policeman Craig Tinker (Colson Smith) on the head.

To make matters worse for potential-jailbird Toyah, Saira Habeeb (Kim Vithana) arrives on the Street and accuses Toyah of murdering her son Imran after spotting his wife and new beau kissing in secret.

Last month was an investigation launched into the lawyers tragic death after his suspicious injuries came to light, leading to his wife Toyah being subsequently arrested and charged.

Griff (Michael Condron) suggests letting the tyres down on Saira’s car, then produces a petrol can. Have things gone too far?

Stephen (Todd Boyce) – who it has been clear to see in recent weeks has been trying to get his hands on a large sum of money – is shocked when mystery wife Gabrielle Reid demands a return of the cash he stole from her business.

She threatens to call the police, so he lets himself into No 8 to find the trust fund papers that Audrey Roberts (Sue Nicholls) drew up but refused to sign.

The Platt family meanwhile continue to process the shocking news of Audrey's suicide attempt, after last week saw the family matriarch reveal she has made an ordinary will, splitting her money equally between them, excluding Stephen…

Fans are also wondering what is to become to Stephen's 'relationship' with Jenny Bradley (Sally Ann Matthews), after the pair locked lips following his intriguing discover that she's the sole owner of the pub.

Young Sam Blakeman (Jude Riordan) fails to bond with Liam Connor 'Jr' (Charlie Wrenshall) and Jack Webster (Kyran Bowes) over a football computer game. Wearing a team top, he turns up at Jalena’s (Kyrah Wallace) party only to be told she’s asked someone else to play chess as he’s now into football.

Meanwhile, the footie match takes a terrible turn when James Bailey (Nathan Graham) suffers a cardiac arrest on the pitch after being forced to make up the numbers.

And Wendy Papadopoulos (Roberta Kerr) is offered a role after the am-dram audition, but Ken Barlow (William Roach) isn’t.
