Corrie’s Ellie Leach suffers injury just days before first Strictly routine

Corrie’s Ellie Leach will be joining Strictly Come Dancing 2023

Strictly Come Dancing’s Ellie Leach has already been hit by a small injury just days before she is due to perform live with professional partner Vito Coppola.

The Coronation Street star posted an image on Instagram of her foot with a huge pink plaster covering her largest toe, captioning it: “Thumbs up from me.”

The 2023 series has only just launched with a dazzling opening show over the weekend and all 15 celebrity contestants have been paired up with their pro partners.

Ellie is not the first celebrity to have suffered from an injury during rehersals.

Just a few days before the launch show, Love Island star Zara McDermott revealed that she had injured her foot.

She was seen wearing black flip-flops to give her feet a rest from the uncomfortable dancing shoes.

Zara said her big toe has “seen better days”.

On top of this, Sherlock star Amanda Abbington also shared images of a blood blister on her Instagram page.

She told her followers: “Dancing in heels, when you absolutely aren’t a dancer, is clearly a blister minefield but, moreover, very much a young man’s game… however, onwards.

“Back tomorrow for more shenanigans!”

It’s not just the celebrity dancers who have recently picked up injuries.

Strictly head judge Shirely Ballas suffered a grusome mishap after slicing her thumb just days before the start of the new series.

She detailed on Instagram: “Juicing today and look what I did. Nearly sliced off my thumb with this bad boy. Be careful when you’re juicing and when you’re washing up.”

Shirley also revealed that her mum, Audrey, had helped bandage up her thumb.

Strictly Come Dancing airs on BBC One on Saturday 23rd September at 6.45pm.
