Could Harry Styles have the next James Bond hit? The As It Was singer is revealed as favourite for the film’s next theme tune

As rumours around who will be the new James Bond continue to circulate, it has been revealed that Harry Styles may be the next artist to sing the upcoming film’s theme tune.

The track, previously sung by megastars such as Billie Eilish, Adele and Sam Smith, has be known to make chart topping success with Adele even winning an Academy Award for her hit Skyfall for the film of the same name.

The As It Was hit maker has now emerged as the bookies favourite sing the next James Bond theme tune ahead of both Ed Sheeran and Elton John.

William Kadjanyi, political analyst at Star Sports, said: ‘With the next James Bond film being discussed more and more, it seems increasingly likely that Harry Styles, one of the biggest names in music today, could be the voice we hear in the opening titles of the next Bond film.

‘And this is not forgetting Ed Sheeran, whose music has already appeared in the likes of The Hobbit, at 8/1 and the ever-popular Lewis Capaldi, following closely behind Styles in the market at 10/1.’

The former One Direction star has achieved incredibly success since he embarked on his solo career, especially in the wake of his third album Harry’s House.

The singer went on to tour across the world with his Love On Tour show playing to more than five million people over 173 dates, including four consecutive nights at Wembley Stadium.

He also took the Grammy’s by storm back in February when he beat Beyoncé to win the elusive Album Of The Year category – the night’s biggest award – for his solo work.

His success and popularity leaves him the shortest-priced British artist to accompany the next Bond film at 7/1.

Also in the running behind Styles, are Ed Sheeran at 8/1, Lewis Capaldi at 10/1 and Elton John at 12/1.

Meanwhile, Coral bookmakers has seen strong support for Aaron Taylor-Johnson in their James Bond betting this week.

In the last 24 hours the star has been cut to 11-4 (from 3-1) leaving him the favourite to be named as the next 007.

It was reported in May that the Kick-Ass star is said to have completed a screen test at Pinewood Studios with Bond boss Barbara Broccoli and impressed her.

007? Aaron Taylor-Johnson is said to be ‘tipped to become the next James Bond’ after impressing film execs during a screen test

Coral’s John Hill said: ‘Aaron Taylor-Johnson is a name that continues to be heavily linked to the next James Bond role, and that is reflected in our betting, particularly over the last 24 hours where it has been one-way traffic for the British actor.

‘Taylor-Johnson tops our next Bond betting ahead of James Norton and Henry Cavill respectively. We could be set for a three-way race between those actors to replace Daniel Craig,’ he added.

In December, it was also reported that Aaron had shot scenes as the secret agent, filming the memorable ‘gun barrel teaser footage’ seen in the films over the years.

A source told The Sun at the time: ‘Aaron has impressed bosses so much that he has filmed one of the franchise’s famous gun barrel teaser scenes, something all the actors do. That move takes him a step closer to signing a deal.’
