There is a history of Hollywood stars falling madly in love and then shockingly breaking up only to get back together again.

It’s called the romance redo. 

Some of the more recent are Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck, who got engaged over 20 years ago, called it off, fell in love again, and are now are happily married.

Most people do not remember that Justin Bieber and Hailey Bieber dated many years ago before they split up and he went back to Selena Gomez. They got back together and eloped in a courthouse. 

P!NK and Carey Hart were on then off then on.

Adam Levine and model Behati Prinsloo had a break before tying the knot.

Of course not all reunions last. Miley and Liam Hemsworth were a couple for a long time, then broke up, and then got back together and wed only to break up again.

Elizabeth Taylor famously wed Richard Burton then divorced him only to get married again and divorced again.

And singer Marie Osmond wed Steve Craig in her youth, then divorced and did it all over again; happily, they are still together.

Here is a look at the most famous redo romances…

JENNIFER LOPEZ AND BEN AFFLECK

They earned the name Bennifer and then the two got engaged in November 2002 when he presented her with a rare pink diamond ring.

She said they had a lot in common: ‘We’re probably more alike and from the same kind of background… same kind of upbringing and same kind of family and same kind of house.’

In spring 2021, the couple rekindled their romance, in September 2021 they kissed on the red carpet, and in April 2022 they became engaged.

By mid July they got married in Las Vegas. In August they had a big wedding at his house in Georgia.

JUSTIN BIEBER AND HAILEY BALDWIN

The next month he shared a kissing photo with Hailey and said he was ‘sooo in love’ with her. She tweeted: ‘Not sure what I did in life to deserve such happiness but I am so utterly grateful to God for giving me such an incredible person to share my life with!’

In September 2018 they eloped in NYC and then in September 2019 they had a formal wedding in South Carolina.

In September of this year they celebrated their fifth anniversary of marriage.

They got back together and in 2005 she proposed by holding up a sign that read, ‘Will you marry me,’ at one of his races.

They wed on the beach in Costa Rica in 2006. But by 2007 they were taking another break. 

According to Us Weekly, Pink said couples counseling has kept them together: ‘It’s the only reason that we’re still together because, you know, I think partners after a long time, we just speak — I can’t say it’s a man and woman thing, I think it’s a partner thing, a spouse thing — that you just speak two different languages’

In January of this year they welcomed their third child.

In 1962 they worked on Cleopatra. At first they clashed but then they fell in love.

The romance was an intense one. 

Both Taylor and Burton were heavy drinkers, and they took to screaming at each other. 

But he gave her big gifts to make up for it: Burton presented Taylor with jewels like the 69-carat Taylor-Burton diamond, the 50‑carat La Peregrina Pearl, and the 33-carat Krupp diamond.

Their conflicts and ongoing drinking became so great that the two divorced in 1974.

The couple reconciled and re-wed in Botswana in October 1975, but the second marriage was over in less than a year. 

MARIE OSMOND AND STEVE CRAIG

Marie Osmond and Steve Craig have an enduring love that has spanned the decades.

The two have been wed twice. The first time was when they were very young in 1982, but they divorced in 1985. And the second time was in 2011. They are still together.

In between the performer was married to Brian Blosil from 1986 until 2007. 

After she divorced Blosil in 2007, she got back together with Steve.

She talked to First For Women about their union.

‘I loved being able to sit down with First for Women magazine a while back to talk about being married to Steve again!! It’s seriously so wonderful to be with to my best friend!’ she wrote in her caption.

‘Nothing is an accident,’ she told People in 2019 about finding love again with her ex. ‘I am a spiritual person. So [I believe] God has his timing.’

She talked to First For Women about their union. ‘I loved being able to sit down with First for Women magazine a while back to talk about being married to Steve again!! It’s seriously so wonderful to be with to my best friend!’ she wrote in her caption

Marie and Steve wed again in 2011 and it has been bliss ever since. ‘I’m enjoying being alone with my husband,’ she wrote on Instagram in March 2020.

‘It has been a blessing to have [time] together, especially after being apart for over 25 years.’

In December the two were seen at Disney World with her grandchildren.

She shared two photos from the amusement park after performing there over Christmas.

‘After we finished the #CandlightCelebration at Epcot, I’ve been blessed to spend the week with my family here at Walt Disney World! I hope you have all had a relaxing and wonderful week!’ she said.
