Dancing on Ice star Lady Leshurr pleads not guilty to assaulting her ex-girlfriend

Rapper Lady Leshurr has pleaded not guilty to assaulting her ex-partner.

The 34 year old Dancing on Ice star is accused of attacked ex girlfriend Sidnee Hussein and Chante Boyea in an early morning altercation in Walthomstow, East London, in October this year.

The rapper, real name Melesha O’Garro, from Kingshurt, Birmingham, appeared at Snaresbrook Crown Court this afternoon, wearing a black blazer and with her hair pulled back in a ponytail.

O'Garro pleaded not guilty to two counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

Sherelle Smith, 28, from Yardley, Birmingham, pleaded not guilty to one count of the same charge.

Both were released on conditional bail, with conditions banning contact with the complainants, ahead of their trial at the same court on October 16, 2023.

During a hearing at Thames Magistrates' in October the same pleas were entered, with prosecutors alleging the rapper had assaulted her ex girlfriend and partner at around 5am on October 22.

A statement from the Metropolitan Police following the arrest read: "Two women have been charged with assault in Leyton.

"Melesha O’Garro, 34, (15/12/1987) was charged with two counts of ABH at Knotts Green Road, E10 on Saturday, 22 October.

"Sherelle Smith, 28, (23/07/1994) was charged with one count of ABH at Knotts Green Road, E10 on Saturday, 22 October.

"Both will appear in custody at Thames Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 24 October."

"The two women were charged after police were called at 05:08hrs on Saturday, 22 October to Knotts Green Mews, E10 following reports of a fight at the location.

"Two women – both aged 27 – were taken to hospital. They have since been discharged."

Lady Leshurr is a British rapper, singer, songwriter and producer and she's known for her Queen's Speech series of freestyles, which received millions of views on YouTube.

She has featured on numerous reality shows, including Masterchef and The Circle, the latter of which she won in aid of Stand Up to Cancer.

She took part in Dancing on Ice in 2021, partnering Brendyn Hadfield and making the semi-finals, as well as a stint on Loose Women.

She also came out as pansexual in 2018, sharing the news with her fans on Instagram.

"Pansexual & proud!!" she wrote.

"It’s taken me almost a decade to realise that i’m attracted to the aura, the energy, the connection, rather than the sex or gender identity.

"I’ve met guys and girls that have made me feel quite special. But the past few years i’ve realised i’m actually not attracted to a gender at all.

"I’m quite free & open about this now & I’ve never felt happier".
