They’re back! Dawn French and Jennifer Saunders have reunited for a M&S Christmas advert as characters Fairy and Duckie – months after saying there are ‘no plans’ for their famous show to return

So thinking outside the box, she sprinkles some of her magic on the dog’s toy, Duckie, who is voiced by Jennifer, 64.
However, there is trouble in store when Duckie tells Fairy she is falling apart as she starts to lose some of her stuffing.
But Fairy comes up with a plan to make sure that Duckie is filled with Christmas spirit instead.
But just when all seems to be going well, in comes the family dog who chases Duckie around the room, causing her to run away.

After that, there’s just one final treat to come from Fairy who sprinkles a little more magic in the room, creating a table filled with a tasty looking feast.
While surrounded by turkey, pigs in blankets and cheese, Fairy said: ‘We are going to have the bestest Christmas ever.’
But as that pesky dog barks at Ducky, she quickly replies: ‘Yes, but I think I might celebrate it up here on the sideboard, if that’s ok.’
The advert comes months after Dawn, 65, said there were ‘no plans’ for the French And Saunders show to return.
Moving on: Back in February, Dawn revealed that there are ‘no plans’ for French and Saunders return while on an episode of The Graham Norton Show
She told Graham Norton in February: I think the time for the sketch show is over, but Jen and I are like kids when we get together and have lots of fun thinking about it – the likes of Line of Duty, Killing Eve and The Crown are just begging for it!’
French and Saunders started working together when they met in their early 20s in 1978, with their eponymous sketch show first airing on BBC Two in 1987.
In total it ran for six full series, in addition to a host of Christmas specials and compilation episodes, the most recent of which was 300 Years of French and Saunders – which aired on Christmas Day in 2017.
