Disturbing new details emerge in Amanda Bynes psychiatric episode, more news ICYMI
Conservatorship question

Amanda Bynes was found unclothed and alone while roaming the streets in downtown Los Angeles on March 19. According to TMZ, the “Hairspray” star was not wearing anything when she waved down a car and informed the driver that she was coming off of a psychotic episode. She then called police herself. In the wake of the odd incident, Amanda was placed on a 72-hour psychiatric hold, which was extended for another week. Since being hospitalized, the former actress has “started to make improvements,” TMZ reported. Back in 2014, Amanda was placed in a conservatorship, helmed by her mother, following a string of troubling behavior. The conservatorship was terminated almost exactly one year to the date before the latest episode. Although a second conservatorship is unlikely on the heels of the latest incident, it’s not completely off the table. Amanda’s parents are reportedly taking solace in the fact that the former actress recognized she was in trouble when she flagged down a car and notified police herself.

In love… again

Billionaire Rupert Murdoch is getting married for the fifth time — at 92. In a March 20 interview with the New York Post, a paper he owns, the Fox News mogul confirmed that he proposed — on St. Patrick’s Day because “I’m one-fourth Irish” — to his girlfriend of a few months, former San Francisco police chaplain Ann Lesley Smith, 66, with an Asscher-cut diamond solitaire he selected himself. “I was very nervous. I dreaded falling in love — but I knew this would be my last. It better be. I’m happy,” he said. The couple met in September 2022, fresh on the heels of the media titan’s divorce from fourth wife Jerry Hall.

Cancer reveal

Massively popular WWE wrestler Alexa Bliss announced on social media that she was recently diagnosed with skin cancer. Alexa (real name: Alexis Kaufman) posted a selfie with a bandage on her face. “Dear younger me, You should have stayed out of tanning beds,” she wrote. Alexa, who is the wife of pop star Ryan Cabrera, later elaborated: “There was a spot on my face yes- that had gotten worse. So went to get biopsy. Was basal cell carcinoma,” she tweeted on March 22. “During my procedure doc also found other squamous cells. Was a quick and easy procedure. Glad I always get my skin checked.” Alexis has been off WWE air for two months and fans had begun to suspect that she was on hiatus. Turns out she was dealing with a health issue. “Tired of seeing these tweets,” she tweeted on March 10. “I am not on a hiatus. They know where to find me.” Coincidentally, on March 22, Alexa was unmasked on “The Masked Singer.” She appeared on the show as an axolotl.

Medical crisis

Delilah Belle Hamlin had a seizure while filming a music video for her debut single. The eldest daughter of Harry Hamlin and Lisa Rinna detailed her scary health situation in a chat with “Entertainment Tonight.” “On the second day of filming the music video, it was, like, nine hours into the day and I suffered from seizures,” she said. “We don’t really know too much about them yet. Even though it’s been years, we’re still trying to figure it out. I ended up having a seizure on set.” Although the seizure was “scary painful,” the 24-year-old model found a silver lining, indicating she “was able to bring the emotion of that into filming the next day.” Delilah even claimed that her famous mom instilled a work ethic in her to always report for duty unless you absolutely cannot. “Lisa’s always taught me [that] if you are like, dying, if you are vomiting, if you are throwing up, do the day. Go and do it. Show up for work,” Delilah said. “So I try. I always try my best. There are some days when I really can’t, but I try my best.”

Pumped up

This truly is an affair to remember. On March 23, the “Vanderpump Rules” cast taped a reunion show, but there was drama even before cameras rolled. Due to a restraining order, Raquel Leviss and Scheana Shay are not allowed to be within 100 yards of each other. To get around this, Scheana watched a live feed from a trailer when Raquel was on stage, and vice versa. In addition, there were two different seating arrangements because of the restraining order. Of course, Tom Sandoval’s cheating scandal with Raquel is really all anyone wanted to talk about. “I know I have to take responsibility for my actions and I’m completely prepared to do that,” Raquel told TMZ before the taping. As for Ariana Madix, Tom’s now-former girlfriend, she arrived to the taping with a direct message to her ex: Her sweatshirt read “1-800-BOYS-LIE.” Her matching sweatpants said, “WE’RE SORRY THE NUMBER YOU ARE TRYING TO REACH HAS MOVED ON.” Lights, camera, action… and drama!

Avoiding arrest

March 21 came and went, and it was just another ho-hum day. That was not what many people expected. On March 18, former President Donald Trump whipped his supporters into a frenzy when he took to his Truth Social social media platform to allege that he, the “leading Republican candidate and former president of the United States will be arrested on Tuesday of next week” — March 21. Nothing happened. The alleged looming arrest is related to a lengthy investigation by the Manhattan district attorney into a hush-money payments scheme involving Donald and adult film actress Stormy Daniels that went down before the 2016 presidential election. In the days leading to the non-arrest, many stars and politicians reacted. “‘Are you guys really going to arrest Trump?'” comedian Chris Rock asked a crowd that included politicians in Washington, D.C., on March 19. “Do you know this is only going to make him more popular? It’s like arresting Tupac Shakur. He’s just gonna sell more records. Are you stupid?” Elon Musk predicted an arrest would lead the way to a “landslide victory” for the former POTUS in 2024.

Court’s in session

A civil trial stemming from a 2016 skiing accident involving Gwyneth Paltrow kicked off this week in a Park City, Utah, courtroom. The Goop founder, who was on hand for the proceedings, is being sued by retired optometrist Terry Sanderson, who claims the Oscar winner was skiing “recklessly” and crashed into him, causing four broken ribs and a traumatic brain injury. Gwyn’s team believes the injuries are exaggerated and argued that Terry is “obsessed with the lawsuit” and even emailed his daughter the same day of the crash to say, “I’m famous.” Both Gwyneth and Terry claim they had the right of way on the Deer Valley mountain that day. The optometrist is suing for $300,000 in damages; Gwyneth is countersuing for $1 and attorney fees.
