Everyone in Love Island fights to leave for cigarettes, reveals ex islander

A former Love Island star has given a behind-the-scenes look at villa life, as she revealed “everyone fights” to go outside to smoke or vape.

Ellie Spence, 25,entered the villa as a bombshell last monthand enjoyed was coupled up with Jordan Odofin, before the pair were sent home from South Africa after receiving the fewest public votes.

Since her return to the UK, Ellie has been offering fans some fascinating insight into what life is like while living in the Love Island villa.

She recently revealed that any Islanders that smoke could only leave the villa to do so at designated times and would “fight” over who got to go.

During an Instagram Q&A, one person asked Ellie: “who smoked/vapes in the villa”.

In response Ellie said: “Everyone smoked or vaped. So we would all fight to go out at dinner time or lunch time. You could only really go at those times.

“I used to wake up at breakfast, I was that stressed, I was like ‘let me go out for a vape!’ You would have to ask and stand by the door. One day I just opened the door. I was so stressed and no-one was replying to me.

“I just opened the door and was like ‘I’m going for a vape!’ and they were like ‘what are you doing?’ over the tannoy.”

The Islanders used to be able to smoke inside the villa and were sometimes seen doing so on camera, however that has been changed in recent series.

Although contestants are also filmed drinking in the evenings out of golden champagne flutes, they are also limited in how much alcohol they are allowed to drink, usually only being allowed a couple of beverages a day.

Season four alumni Eyal Booker previously revealed that alcohol "was very, very limited" and that it was "max two glasses of wine a night and that's max!"

During a Q&A on TikTok, Amy Hart from season five also answered a question on whether Islanders can take each others' drinks.

She replied: "No, and they tell you on the first day that if you do get caught giving your drink to anyone, that everyone gets banned from drinking for five days. So then you'll let everyone else down, so don't do it."

The Love Island villa has been plunged into chaos this week after Jessie Wynter divided viewers with her behaviour, with some fans believe she’s “snakey" while others are standing firmly behind her.

Australian contestant Jessie is currently loved up with TikTok farmer Will Young, with their only hiccup being when Will kissed a bombshell during Casa Amor.

But in recent episodes, tensions rose over Claudia Fogarty’s relationship, or lack of one, with financial advisor Casey O’Gorman.

During Monday night’s episode, Casey finally bit the bullet and told Claudia that he was choosing a recent bombshell, Rosie Seabrook, over her.

The rest of the episode saw contestants such as Olivia Hawkins, Lana Jenkins, Maxwell Samuda and Ron Hall call into question Jessie’s intentions with Will, with both Olivia and Maxwell branding her fake.

The Islanders are set for more drama soon as the next dumping looms, with Maya Jama heading to the villa to send more contestants home.
