Fitness Guru Justyn Vicky Dead At 33 After 450-Lb Barbell Fell On His Neck

Beloved fitness influencer Justyn Vicky has died after a tragic accident.

The Indonesian workout guru sadly passed away following a trip to The Paradise Bali gym in Sanur, Indonesia last weekend, where he regularly trained. According to DailyMail.com, the 33-year-old was attempting a 450-lb squat press when things went horribly wrong. Word is, he bore the weight on his shoulders as he went down in the squat position, but when he attempted to press back up, the significant weight shifted the barbell forward, pinning him to the ground by his neck. He apparently did have a spotter, but the weight and sudden movement of the barbell were likely too much to handle alone.

Vicky was immediately rushed to the hospital with a broken neck and a severe compression of crucial nerves that connect to his heart and lungs, where he went in for emergency surgery. But despite the medical team’s best efforts, he died shortly after the operation.

So, so awful.

The popular nutritionist boasted a whopping 30,000 followers on Instagram, who were quick to show love for the late athlete following the terrible accident on his recent posts. One user wrote:

“Vicky was a good person, polite, and sociable. He always shared knowledge about the gym. He also advised friends at the gym to be cautious and not exceed their capabilities during training. Only we ourselves can measure our own abilities. May Mas Vicky rest peacefully in the embrace of God and find a worthy place.”

Another added:

“He was always full of positive vibes and me to stay motivated. I’ll never forget his impact on my fitness journey. It’s a tough loss, but we’ll keep his spirit alive”

You can really tell the positive impact he had on his followers.

The Paradise Bali gym also tributed the late fitness influencer, celebrating him in a lengthy post:

“Justyn was more than just a fitness expert; he was a beacon of inspiration, motivation, and unwavering support. His infectious energy and genuine passion for helping others transform their lives touched us deeply. Through countless workouts, words of encouragement, and compassionate guidance, he became an irreplaceable part of our fitness journeys and our gym family. Every session with Justyn felt like much more than just exercise. He created a nurturing environment where we felt safe to challenge ourselves, both physically and mentally. His belief in our potential pushed us beyond our limits, empowering us to discover newfound strength and resilience within ourselves.”

They continued:

“Beyond the gym, Justyn was a friend, and a source of unwavering support. His warm smile and genuine interest in our lives made us feel seen and valued. He celebrated our triumphs, listened to our struggles, and reminded us that we were never alone in our journey towards better health and well-being.”

Earlier this month, Vicky posted a video on IG of him doing the same workout that went on to take his life, eerily with the following audio laid over it:

“The squat is the single most important exercise ever discovered by man, and one of the most dangerous.”
