Gemma Collins has revealed that she was hooked up to a drip at her Essex mansion after feeling under the weather.

The former The Only Way Is Essex star, 41, shared clips of her arm attached to a drip in her living room recently, after a medical specialist visited her at her £1.3m home.

While it was unclear what Gemma's drip was for, she had previously told her followers earlier in the week that she'd been feeling ill having been struck down with a chest infection which resulted in her having to complete a course of antibiotics.

She shared a clip of her new hair transformation and told her fans she felt like a "different woman" despite being ill.

"I told you I'd walk out here a different woman. Despite having a chest infection and being on antibiotics and steroids, I feel totally cured after getting in here!" she said.

Gemma's recent social media update comes after she enjoyed a sun-soaked getaway to Marbella and showed off her slimmer figure in a white strapless swimming costume on Instagram.

The TOWIE star showcased her recent 3st weight loss in the swimwear pic as she posed with her hand on her hip in front of a beach with sparkling blue sea in the background.

The TV personality wore her blonde hair loose around her shoulders and beamed as she showed off her deep golden tan from a summer of vacationing.

Gemma, who often shares body-confident snaps online, has opened up about her struggles with her weight after having an under-active thyroid and polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS).

She shared her “constant battle” with her weight after being diagnosed with PCOS, a condition that affects how ovaries work, which can lead to weight gain as the body becomes more resistant to insulin.

Speaking to The Mirror she said: “It’s not as easy for me, hormonally, to keep my weight stable all the time. People don’t understand.

“I’ve got under active thyroid, I've got PCOS, It just means that I have to work extra hard at [keeping fit and working out].”

She then spoke about US singer Lizzo and described her as an "inspiration", saying: “Look at Lizzo, she’s a real inspiration to me. I’m loving myself along that [fitness] journey and you now that’s a real important message. It's just a constant battle you know, so I have to keep on top of it every day.”
