Former Love Island star Georgia Harrison has been labelled "courageous" by Judge Christopher Morgan as he sentenced the TV star's ex Stephen Bear to one year and nine months in jail.
In December the former Ex on the Beach star was found guilty on two counts of revenge porn and one count of voyeurism after he non-consensually shared a sex tape of himself and Georgia.
Sentencing the reality star Judge Morgan said: "In your own words, ‘people pay to watch Stephen Bear’. The edited video recording is precisely that – edited to focus on Stephen Bear engaged in various sexual acts.
"And I’m sure that you recognise the vast economic value to you by having Georgia Harrison, a well known reality and TV personality, in the video. She would have been known and recognised by many people and it’s my judgement that enhanced the economic value of this video.”
The judge said Stephen “verbally abused” Miss Harrison when she told him to delete it and falsely claimed online the video was of another woman.
He said: “You were trying to bully her into withdrawing her complaint and when that was exposed as a lie you sought to blame her, claiming she had shared it with others. You also attempted to lay blame at the door of the person you employed to upload video material to Only Fans.
“Georgia Harrison has confirmed in her victim personal statement and in court today the extensive humiliation and embarrassment that she has been caused.
"The harm is very great in terms of her emotional health and reputation. Her future employment prospects have been seriously affected – there’s no doubt about that.
"She has waived her anonymity in order to speak out about offences of this nature and harm caused and in so speaking out she has had to relive the humiliation and embarrassment she felt. She has spoken with great dignity and courage."
Georgia was in attendance at the sentencing where she gave a victim impact statement, beginning: "When I first saw the screenshot of the footage and realised it had been sold online by him I felt physically sick. I was crying on and off for hours and suffered panic attacks.
"The scale of how widespread the video was, was just unimaginable. I had people approaching me or referencing me literally everywhere. My head was always whirling with thoughts of what was going on and the fear that more of the footage could surface at any second.
“The clear lack of remorse or empathy from Bear was soul-crushing."
“To think he intentionally filmed me and sold footage knowing how much it would affect me has left me feeling hurt, embarrassed, insignificant and insecure in many ways. I simply do not have the confidence I used to. It makes me feel sick to think so many people have watched it.”
Georgia revealed that she has been living with her mum for the last two years as she is “too scared” to return to her own home in Essex, as she “can’t stand to be near” Bear.
She added: “He is so impulsive and I’m afraid as I really don’t know what he’s going to do next. It’s my hope this case sets an example to the younger generation that this sort of behaviour is not acceptable and there will be serious consequences for those who choose to act in such a way.”
Alongside his jail sentence a restraining order was also made, banning Stephen from contacting Georgia for five years, and he has been ordered to sign the Sex Offenders Register for ten years.
