Gogglebox favourite Stephen announced he will no longer be part of Dancing On Ice and has now had to pull out of taking part in the London Marathon.
Sharing a photo of himself and his three dogs as he reclined at home, he thanked his 270,000 Instagram followers who had flooded his DMs with “kind words and messages”.
The star, whose ankle was thoroughly bandaged up, explained: “On Wednesday last week during my training session for Dancing on Ice I fell and broke my left ankle.
“I’ve had surgery and will be on crutches for a few months meaning, I’ve had to leave the competition which I’m absolutely gutted about.”
He then divulged that he would also be forced to pull out of the London Marathon.

“I was having so much fun and enjoying learning to skate,” he lamented, before insisting: “I will of course be keeping a close eye on all of the other celebs and pros and supporting them all the way.”
The 52-year-old added: “I’m doing my best to keep my spirits up and will hopefully be back on my feet again very soon.”
Stephen put a brave face on earlier this week when he stepped out with husband Daniel Lustig for a trip to the Hop Tub brewery in Hurstpierpoint in Sussex, but as yet he is seemingly unable to put his weight on his left foot.
Stephen has reportedly undergone an operation to insert metal plates into his ankle for extra support, but there’s no chance of him returning to training this year.

Ultimately, he has been forced to leave the competition before the show has begun.
There’s more uncertainty behind the scenes about who will present the new series, with Holly Willoughby yet to confirm whether she will be returning to her hosting role.
She is said to have had a difficult few months, with her This Morning co-host Phillip Schofield dramatically leaving the show.
Meanwhile, a Dancing On Ice spokesperson confirmed: “Stephen Lustig-Webb has had to withdraw from the show due to an injury he sustained to his ankle during training.
“He is still very much a part of the Dancing On Ice family, we will be helping to support Stephen and we wish him well with his recovery.”
The Channel 4 star was inundated with messages of support on Instagram, with @realmadyvee lamenting: “So sorry bro, I was really looking forward to watching you skating around like a fairy on ice. Sending you tonnes of love and prayers of quick healing.”
Meanwhile, @susan.e.atkinson cheekily quipped: “Can you come back to Gogglebox then please whilst you recover? Miss you two but get well soon.”
@dympna_ann suggested: “Podcast wearing a cast… has it been done? You and [husband] @lustig75 would be fabulously magnificent at it and you could still rest whilst doing it!”
