During a May 2014 interview with Re/code, Gwyneth Paltrow compared her life in the public eye to crimes against humanity committed during war. “You come across [online comments] about yourself and about your friends, and it’s a very dehumanizing thing,” she said. “It’s almost like how in war, you go through this bloody, dehumanizing thing.” Wow. While we empathize with how difficult it must be to face constant criticism from online trolls, that experience is absolutely in no way comparable to war.

In a February 2022 Architectural Digest video, Gwyneth Paltrow showed off her uber-expensive estate in Montecito, California, which features a home spa inspired by the Parisian spa Bain de la Marais. It includes a hot tub, a cold plunge pool, a sauna and a shower system with R.W. Atlas shower fixtures that retail for more than $30K each. “Whenever I’m in here, I’m like, ‘Pinch me!’ I cannot believe that this is our house and we live here. It’s so fun,” she gushed. The Oscar winner and husband Brad Falchuk reportedly purchased the property for $5M in 2016 and rebuilt it from the ground up.

On a July 2011 episode of “The Jonathan Ross Show,” Gwyneth Paltrow implied that processed foods are worse for you than extremely addictive and potentially life-altering drugs. “I’d rather smoke crack than eat cheese from a can,” she snipped. Fine, Gwyneth, more Easy Cheese for the rest of us!

During a July 2018 interview with The New York Times Magazine, Gwyneth Paltrow revealed that she has a “house manager.” But don’t call him a butler. “No, he’s a house manager,” explained the actress. “He’s the best. He’s from Chicago. He’s so incredible. He helps me with everything,” she gushed. (Must be nice!) The lengthy article also revealed that while Gwyneth might cook her own meals, she has help when it comes to feeding her kids: According to the Times, “A woman who has worked for G.P. for a long time stood beside her, cooking an entirely separate dinner for G.P.’s children.”

Imagine hosting a president in your backyard! In October 2014, Gwyneth Paltrow’s Los Angeles home served as the venue for a fundraising dinner honoring President Barack Obama. The president reportedly thanked the Oscar winner and her children “for letting us crash your house” during his speech at the ultra-exclusive gathering.

During a January 2018 interview with People magazine, Gwyneth Paltrow bragged that she takes a bath “every single night.” Said the actress, “I fell in love with the ritual of it — lighting a candle and having a cup of tea or a whiskey, depending on my day.” She added that she also takes around an hour to “daydream and not be on [my phone]” regardless of what else is happening on any given day. “It’s non-negotiable. It’s just like, I do it every night,” she said. “My kids are welcome to come in and chat with me if they need to — it’s not like I’m in a meditation or something. But I just need that time and so I just take it. It’s really the only time I take for myself every single day regardless of what is going on.” Single moms, can you imagine setting aside an hour to daydream each day?!

Back in 2013, Life & Style magazine reported that after Gwyneth Paltrow hits the gym, she makes someone wipe her shower stall completely dry before she indulges in a post-workout rinse. “She refuses to touch what she calls ‘somebody else’s shower water,'” an inside source told the tabloid. She also reportedly refuses to use toilet paper touched by other patrons. “[She] demands an unopened package. It’s nuts,” said the source. No kidding! We’re surprised Gwyneth ever exercised outside her castle in the first place.

In 2016, Gwyneth Paltrow’s Goop brand launched its first perfume, which channeled “cypress smoke, snow [and] sensual quiet.” (Whatever the heck “sensual quiet” is supposed to smell like!) The perfumer who worked with the Oscar winner on the fragrance wrote at the time, “[Gwyneth] is such a sunny California girl, so I expected her to ask for, you know, grapefruit and vanilla and flowers, but instead she came in talking about the smell of ancient floorboards in European churches, a forest in Yugoslavia…” What girl doesn’t dream of smelling like ancient church floorboards?!

During a 2006 interview with The Guardian, Gwyneth Paltrow used Reese Witherspoon as an example of a talented actress who only makes romantic comedies. “You see her in something like ‘Walk the Line’ and think, ‘God, you’re so great.’ And then you think, ‘Why is she doing these stupid romantic comedies?’ But of course it’s for money and status,” said the “Shallow Hal” alum. Reese, by the way, has spent the past few executive producing lauded dramas centered around women — “Big Little Lies,” “Little Fires Everywhere” and “The Morning Show” — while Gwyneth has been selling overpriced candles that allegedly smell like her private parts.
