My 'milk crate' hack makes sifting soil so much easier – it's absolutely genius | The Sun

A GARDENER has shared a simple hack for sifting soil.

The content creator shared a video of a man using an ingenious method of discarding excess stones and clumps in flowerbeds.

The TikTok was posted by a user named Yvonne (@yvonnerearick0), who often shares life and gardening hacks with her followers.

The video opened showing a a flowerbed and a man with a large spade shovelling soil into a red plastic milk crate.

The text "GENIUS!" is overlaid on the screen.

The man holding the shovel continued to add soil to the crate until it was mostly full.

He then took the crate in both hands and, holding the handles, began to shake it as if he were sifting flour.

By shaking hard, the man separated the loose soil from harder, solid clumps of dirt and stones.

He shook the crate until all that remained was clumps of hard soil, stones and plant debris.

All of the loose, fresh soil fell through the milk crate holes and back into the flowerbed below.
