Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are set to be offered Prince Andrew's old Buckingham Palace apartment, following their eviction from Frogmore Cottage, according to reports.
The offer is said to be an olive branch from King Charles, after the couple confirmed that they had been given notice to vacate Frogmore Cottage, which was gifted to them by the late Queen in 2019.
Harry and Meghan are thought to have been given notice to vacate the property, which they used as their 'second home', just weeks after the publication of Harry's bombshell memoir, Spare, which came out on 10 January.
A source said the couple, who now live in a multi-million dollar mansion in Montecito, California, are concerned that it will be 'incredibly complicated' to visit the UK in future if they are forced to stay outside of the perimeters of a royal estate in the country.
King Charles' decision to turf the couple out of Frogmore Cottage – a decision reportedly backed by Prince William and Kate Middleton – is said to have come after Prince Harry attacked Charles' wife, Queen Consort Camilla in his memoir.
Harry made a number of claims about his stepmother in the book, including that she sold stories to the press, as he called her a "villain" in an interview to promote the memoir.
After being told to vacate the property, Harry and Meghan are said to be "concerned" that it will affect their children, Archie, three, and one-year-old Lilibet having a relationship with their grandfather, the King.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's journalist friend Omid Scobie claimed that a couple of members of the royal family were "appalled" at King Charles' decision to request that the couple vacate Frogmore Cottage.
He said a source told him: "It all feels very final and like a cruel punishment. It's like [the family] want to cut them out of the picture for good."
King Charles is said to have offered Frogmore Cottage to Prince Andrew, who he's requested to vacate the Royal Lodge at Windsor, where he's lived for 20 years with his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson.
But as an Olive Branch Harry and Meghan, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, are thought to have been given Prince Andrew's old Buckingham Palace apartment to use as a bolthole whenever they visit the UK, as reported by the Daily Mail.
There is currently a huge question mark over whether Prince Harry and Meghan will attend the King's official coronation in May, after they levelled a number of attacks on the Royal Family over the last couple of years.
They made a number of claims in their 2021 interview with Oprah Winfrey, and Harry didn't hold back with his accusations in his bombshell memoir, which was heavily publicised in January.
