Harry’s claims family is unwilling to reconcile rubbished as ‘King invited him to stay’

A royal insider has rubbished Prince Harry’s claims that the Royal Family is “unwilling to reconcile” with him, claiming that his father King Charles, 74, invited the Duke and Duchess and Sussex to stay with him last year.

Despite the dust having not yet settled from Harry and wife Meghan Markle’s tell-all docuseries dropping on Netflix last month, the 38 year old royal has taken part in more interviews ahead of the release of his memoir, titled Spare, being released next week.

Harry conducted interviews with both CNN and ITV, with the chats expected to air in the coming days.

In a teaser clip for his interview with ITV’s Tom Bradby, the duke says “I would like to have my father back" and "I would like to have my brother back", claiming that "they've shown absolutely no willingness to reconcile".

Now a royal insider has hit back at his comments after King Charles apparently invited the Sussexes to stay with him on two separate occasions last year.

A source told The Mirror: “It takes some audacity to say that when his father invited him to stay at his house when in the UK, invited him to spend Christmas with the rest of the family and continued to make public statements of support.”

They went on to label Harry’s comments as “outrageous”.

Meanwhile, it’s also said that Harry had several video calls with his father over the course of 2022, despite his bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey airing early last year.

As well as alleging his family don’t want to reconcile, Harry accused The Firm of “leaking and planting” stories about him and Meghan, adding: “They feel as though it is better to keep us somehow as the villains.”

Body language expert Judi James has since analysed the trailer for Harry’s interview, stating that the father-of-two appears to have “given up”.

Judi explained: “He says there is ‘no willingness to reconcile’ with a dismissive left shoulder shrug, some staccato blinks and head shakes, as though he’s given up trying.

“His hands do perform a ritual that suggests a desire to self-calm and self-reassure though as he rubs his thumbs together and crosses them.”

Further discussing Harry saying he wanted his father and brother back, Judi added to The Sun that the father-of-two said this “with challenge and some hint of anger rather than sadness and regret”.

"His chin raises then drops with his expression landing in something resembling a sulk," she went on.
