Heston Blumenthal’s wife in horror crash ‘with mum trapped inside’

Heston Blumenthal cooks up a new GCSE

Heston Blumenthal’s wife of less than a year reportedly had a narrow escape when her Land Rover Defender collided with a row of parked cars on Wednesday.

Melanie Ceysson, who is the Michelin starred chef’s third wife, is said to have hit the vehicles after crossing a mini roundabout which left her £80,000 car precariously balanced, with one wheel having shattered the windscreen of one of the cars she hit.

Although the 36-year-old managed to exit the vehicle through the driver’s door, the incident left her mother and dog trapped inside.

In pictures obtained by The Sun, the aftermath shows that her car mounted a silver Nissan Note and her mother can be seen sitting inside with her daughter’s pet bulldog.

Police and an off-duty firefighter managed to get both out of the wreck uninjured.

The accident happened near Heston’s Michelin-starred Fat Duck restaurant and the couples gated Thames-side mansion.

Express.co.uk has contacted representatives for Heston Blumenthal and Thames Valley police for comment.

The owner of a black BMW X4, which suffered suspension damage in the collision, shared his account of what happened with the publication.

Sean Fryer said he heard a “massive bang” as he sat in his kitchen. “I went outside and there they were in her brand new Defender,” he said.

“Her wheel had gone up the side of my car and landed in the windscreen of the car behind.”
