Holly Willoughby’s plans for ‘refreshed’ This Morning after Phillip scandal

Just a day after Holly Willoughby made her controversial return to This Morning, rumours are already swirling that say the presenter is looking to shake up the show.

A TV insider reportedly told Heat Magazine that the 42 year old mum of three has been in talks with the multiple incoming co-hosts, who will replace her former pal Phillip Schofield, to plan how they'll give the daytime programme a revamp.

"As well as spending a lot of time planning the refreshed show this summer, Holly has been in contact with the new line-up of co-hosts," they said. "She wants the show to move away from the spotlight on one presenter, to a more diverse array of talent."

Holly returned to the ITV show after a long summer break with her as the main host, joined by different co-hosts throughout the week including Josie Gibson, Alison Hammond, Dermot O'Leary and Craig Doyle.

"Going forward, she envisions the team taking a more flexible approach, as there are plenty of opportunities for getting involved," the insider told Heat.

Holly's alleged new masterplan comes after her 61 year old This Morning co-host Phillip – who today unfollowed Holly on social media – stepped down from the high-profile role following rumours of a feud between the pair.

He admitted to having had an affair with a younger colleague while working on the show, also seeing him axed from a number of other projects, including having his collaboration with The Cube Live in Manchester revoked.

Holly ended up caught up in the cross fire, despite Phillip insisting she was unaware of the controversial affair.

There is currently an investigation going on within the broadcaster, with Holly cooperating with authorities as she has "nothing to hide".

In her statement before she left the show for the summer, Holly told viewers: “It feels very strange sitting here without Phil and I imagine you might be feeling a lot like I have – shaken, troubled, let down, worried for the wellbeing of people on all sides of what's been going on, and full of questions.

"You, me and all of us at This Morning gave our love and support to someone who was not telling the truth, who acted in a way that they themselves felt that they had to resign from ITV and step down from a career that they loved. That is a lot to process.

"I hope that as we start this new chapter and get back to a place of warmth and magic that this show holds for all of us, we can find strength in each other.

"And from my own heart, can I just say thank you for all of your kind messages and thank you for being here this morning.

"Myself, Josie, Dermot, Alison and Craig and every single person on this show will continue to work hard every single day to bring you the show that we love."
