Please cast your poor, tired mind back to 2019, when there was major royal family drama regarding the Queen’s Christmas speech and the photos displayed on the table behind her. (IKR, it’s already a lot.)

To refresh your memory real fast, the Queen was accused of snubbing Meghan Markle and Prince Harry by not including their photo amid all her other family pics (specifically, photos of the Cambridges, the Queen’s father, and Prince Charles and Duchess Camilla). At the time, commenters on the royal family’s Instagram were outraged by the snub, with musings like “Where is Harry’s photo,” and “Where are Harry, Meghan, and Archie, your majesty?????”

And while it’s true that the rest of the Queen’s grandchildren (and the rest of her children) also weren’t included, the decision to feature photos of Prince Charles and Prince William and not Prince Harry definitely stood out. So yeah, Harry was upset.

In his new book with the world’s most extra title, Revenge: Meghan, Harry and the War Between the Windsors, biographer Tom Bower noted (via Us Weekly) that “Four silver-framed family photographs had been carefully placed behind her. They showed the Queen’s father George VI, Prince Philip, Charles and Camilla, and finally William and his family. To Harry’s fury, there was no photograph of himself, Meghan and Archie.” To Harry, this felt like “the Windsors were airbrushing the Sussexes from history.”

FYI, author Christopher Anderson also brought up this incident in his book, Brothers and Wives: Inside the Private Lives of William, Kate, Harry and Meghan, with a source saying the snub was on purpose.

“[She] looked over the tables where the photographs she had so lovingly selected were arranged,” the source said, noting that the Queen pointed at a framed photo of the Sussexes and said, “That one, I suppose we don’t need that one.”

Truly hope this isn’t true! But for what it’s worth, Harry currently has an extremely close relationship with his grandmother, and recently spent time with her in England, so at least there’s that.
