Huge fire breaks out next to Declan Donnelly’s £5m home as firefighters rush to stop it

A huge fire broke out next to Declan Donelly's £5m London mansion as firefighters rushed in to stop it.

Many firefighters could be seen with their equipment in Chiswick as they attended to the fire, although it's not yet clear what caused it, or if Dec and his family were at their home next door when it started.

Many people could be seen standing on the street as they observed what was going on.

OK! has contacted Dec's reps for comment.

The 47 year old I'm a Celeb presenter lives at his Chiswick home with his wife, Ali Astall, and their two children, five year old daughter Isla Anne and one year old son, Jack Anthony Alphonsus.

The recent fire isn't the first issue to strike the home that they live in, as over the Easter weekend in 2021, it was targeted by thieves who tried to break in while he and his family slept upstairs.

The television presenter was asleep, along with his wife Ali, their daughter Isla and sausage dog Ricky as the burglars attempted to force their way into the Donnelly residence.

However, it's understood the attempted burglars were not able to access the mansion and were unable to get through the gates and Dec and his loved ones had a lucky escape.

Given that Dec is one of the UK's highest paid – and most popular – TV presenters, his home is suitably lavish, and it comes complete with modern decor and a home gym.

Dec has previously shown off his gym on social media, and he was clearly staying true to his roots as a number of Newcastle United shirts could be seen framed on the walls behind him.

Last month, Dec and his wife of eight years Ali were all smiles as they enjoyed a date night at the fancy Chiltern Firehouse restaurant in London, which is favoured by many-a celebrity.

Ali and Dec married on 1 August 2015, at St Michael's Roman Catholic Church in Elswick, which is close to where the presenter was born in Newcastle upon Tyne.

The wedding was attended by pals Holly Willoughby, 42, best man Ant McPartlin, 47, and his then wife Lisa Armstrong in Newcastle.

They all then headed to the rural 300-acre estate Matfen Hall for their beautiful reception as husband and wife.

Of course, Dec wouldn't have anyone else by his side on his wedding day than partner in crime Ant McPartlin and the pair matched in royal blue suits and their iconic shades as they arrived at the church.

The iconic presenting duo recently took home the gong for Best Presenter at the NTAs for the 22nd year in a row – proving they're as popular as ever.
