Hugh Jackman enjoys solo bike ride in New York City… hours after estranged wife Deborra-Lee Furness broke her silence since their split

Hugh Jackman was spotted enjoying a solo bike ride in New York City on Tuesday afternoon, just hours after his estranged wife Deborra-Lee Furness broke her silence following their split.

The hunky actor, 54, bundled up in a black jacket and gray trousers, complete with a helmet during his bicycle ride.

Hugh’s sighting comes after Deborra, 67, broke her silence since the split in a phone call made by radio hosts Kyle Sandilands and Jackie O Henderson.

The radio duo accidentally called the Australian actress, 67, live on air on Tuesday (Australia time) and were left shocked when she answered the phone.

‘We have actually called you by mistake, it’s ridiculous. Seriously, this isn’t a stitch up,’ Kyle told Deborra-Lee during the call.

‘We didn’t mean to actually call you. But now you’re here, we won’t go into it. We love you, we hope you’re well.’

‘Thank you guys, I really appreciate it. You’re really sweet,’ she responded.

Kyle continued: ‘I just feel it’s too soon. I don’t want to get involved in anything. But we love you, and you ring us when you want to chat.’

‘Thank you, guys. I really, really appreciate it,’ Deborra-Lee, an Australian actress, said before hanging up.

In mid-September, Deborra-Lee and Hugh shocked their fans when they announced they were divorcing after 27 years of marriage.

‘We have been blessed to share almost three decades together in a wonderful, loving marriage. Our journey now is shifting and we have decided to separate to pursue our individual growth,’ the couple said in a statement obtained by PEOPLE earlier this month.

‘Our family has been and always will be our highest priority. We undertake this next chapter with gratitude, love, and kindness. We greatly appreciate your understanding in respecting our privacy as our family navigates this transition.’

The former couple signed the statement as ‘Deb and Hugh Jackman,’ adding: ‘This is the sole statement either of us will make.’

The Australian couple share two children together; Oscar, 23, and Ava, 18.

Last April, the pair celebrated their anniversary and Jackman had posted a gushing tribute to his wife on Instagram.

‘I love you Deb. Today is our 27th wedding anniversary. 27 years! I love you so much,’ the actor wrote in his caption.

‘Together we have created a beautiful family. And life. Your laughter, your spirit, generosity, humor, cheekiness, courage, and loyalty is an incredible gift to me. I love you with all my heart,’ he shared in the heartfelt post.

No longer a couple: In February, Hugh told Smooth Radio: ‘I think honesty and intimacy and making time [are the secret to a long and happy marriage]. You can’t just assume that things will just tick along okay. You have to make time;’ seen September 28, 2019

While he is undoubtedly more well known than his wife, Deborra-Lee had already shot 20 movies by the time she and Jackman met while costarring as a prison psychologist and a brain-damaged convict in ABC TV’s 10-episode series Correlli in 1995.

Deborra-Lee most recently played Jill Bailey alongside Eric Bana in Robert Connolly’s sequel Force of Nature: The Dry 2, which was released in Australian and New Zealand theaters on August 24.

In February, Hugh told Smooth Radio: ‘I think honesty and intimacy and making time [are the secret to a long and happy marriage]. You can’t just assume that things will just tick along okay. You have to make time.’
