Judi Love, 42, said it “breaks [her] heart” that Meghan Markle had to face “very real threats” “alone” with just Prince Harry “fighting her corner” while she was a working member of the royal family. The Loose Women star also implored that people “take her claims seriously” ahead of the release of their Harry & Meghan Netflix documentary.

In her new column, Judi discussed revelations from Metropolitan Police chief, Neil Basu, who told Channel 4 that the Duchess of Sussex received “disgusting and very real” threats.

He also revealed that police teams “had investigated” and people were prosecuted over the threats.

Judi went on to highlight that, in the same week, Queen Elizabeth’s lady-in-waiting Susan Hussey resigned after repeatedly questioning a black British charity founder about where she was “really from”.

Judi wrote for OK earlier this week: “I hope this incident, and having the police now standing by [Meghan], makes people take Meghan’s claims about the discriminatory comments she received seriously.

“It just breaks my heart that prior to this, she had to go through this alone with only Harry fighting her corner.”

Judi’s comments come shortly before Meghan and Harry’s docuseries drops on Netflix tomorrow (Thursday).

Two trailers have been released and included clips from the early days of their relationship, with the media describing Meghan as a “royal rockstar”.

It then takes a dramatic turn and features clips of Meghan crying merged with footage of paparazzi.

Prince Harry states that he didn’t want “history to repeat itself”, referencing the death of his mother Princess Diana.

In the teaser, Meghan also says: “When the stakes are this high, doesn’t it make more sense to hear our story from us?”

After the trailer dropped last week, the Loose Women stars shared their reaction, with Nadia Sawalha commenting that it gave her “goosebumps” and Stacey Solomon proclaiming: “Good for them.”

Judi added: “They want to say their side and, at the end of the day, whether it is the media or the silence of the royals, there has been kind of a suggestion put out of what Meghan is like and how she has manipulated Harry.”

The comedian also said that she believes no matter what Meghan does there will always be “some kind of negative connotations because for some reason people don’t like her”.

She went on to say that she expects people will be nervous surrounding a “conversation about racism within the royals or within the UK,” to which Nadia replied: “I hope they do discuss the racism and I think they should.”

Kaye Adams then concluded that the trailer made her feel “uncomfortable” and left her wondering “are they going to let off a bomb that’s going to cause havoc”.

Harry & Meghan will be made up of six episodes, with the first three dropping tomorrow.

Viewers won’t need to wait too long for the rest of the series as the final three episodes will be out the following week on Thursday, December 15.

It will be out in the UK at 8am GMT, with most of Europe getting access at 9am.

Those in the US living by PST can expect the series to be out just after midnight, while those on the east coast (EST) can watch from 3am.

Harry & Meghan will debut on Thursday, December 8, on Netflix.
