Iain Armitage is reacting to the news that the upcoming holiday sequel Scoob: Holiday Haunt has been shelved by Warner Bros Discovery!

The 14-year-old Young Sheldon star voiced Young Shaggy in the first film and was reprising his voice role in the sequel.

“I’m very sorry to share this sad news. I LOVED working on this, and just did another session as Young Shaggy last week and the film looked just about complete. It was such a joy and so many people worked so hard. 😢,” he wrote on Twitter.

Director Michael Kurinsky and writer/producer Tony Cervone also reacted to the news.

“Iain is an amazing Shaggy. I really want you all to see it. We need a Christmas miracle,” Michael said, quoting Iain‘s tweet.

“Thank you to all the Scooby Doo fans out there. It means everything to me. Let’s get the word out! #SaveScoobHolidayHaunt #ScoobyDoo #Scoob,” he added in another tweet.

The director also revealed the full cast, which included Mckenna Grace (Young Daphne), Ariana Greenblatt (Young Velma), Pierce Gagnon (Young Fred), Mark Hamill, Michael McKean, Cristo Fernandez, Ming-Na Wen, Maya Hawke, Andre Braugher, Priah Ferguson, JB Smoove, Patrick Warburton and Frank Welker as Scooby-Doo.

Tony wrote on Instagram, “Yes I am afraid this is true. The movie is practically finished and turned out beautifully. I am beyond heartbroken.”

If you missed it, Warner Bros Discovery addressed the film’s cancelation, basically saying Scoob! and Batgirl being scrapped were due to a strategic shift and they are “examples of streaming films that do not fit this new strategic approach.”
