Surgery complications
Iggy Azalea was left unable to walk for three weeks after “complications” arose following a “rather mundane surgery” she underwent to repair lingering back issues. The rapper detailed her struggle on Twitter on Nov. 28. “It didn’t end up being very mundane because I had complications with my recovery & ended up in bed hooked up to a million machines and in so much pain there are about 3 days I actually just can’t remember at all,” she said. “I didn’t walk except to use the bathroom (a whole other ordeal lol) for 3 weeks & you’d be shocked to know how weak you can get when you don’t actually move. It happens really fast.” Iggy is now slowly beginning to walk, work out and recover. “It’s been very mentally challenging to suddenly not be able to do anything for yourself and have no answers about when you will recover. That was the hardest part but all the Drs have been so happy with how quickly I’m getting better now that I’m back moving & walking,” she shared.

Name game
Allow me to reintroduce myself! Jonah Hill is seeking to change his name to… Jonah Hill. The actor, born Jonah Hill Feldstein, filed legal paperwork to make his stage name official. TMZ reported that court records filed in the last week of November show Jonah “simply wants the name he’s publicly gone by for years to be his legal handle.” It’s expected that the court will grant the “Wolf of Wall Street” star’s request.

Affair allegations
Waking up to an affair! “Good Morning America” co-hosts T.J. Holmes and Amy Robach have been accused of having a secret months-long affair. According to reports from multiple outlets, both ABC morning show stars separated from their spouses in August, but they allegedly began getting romantic months earlier as they both trained for the New York City Half Marathon, which Amy ran with her now-estranged husband, actor Andrew Shue. It’s believed T.J. and Amy grew closer while in London in June for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. On Nov. 30, DailyMail.com published photos of the journalists cozying up at a bar and holding hands in an Uber. Another photo appeared to show T.J. tapping Amy’s behind as she loaded something into the trunk of a car while they were out of town together in upstate New York. “They have a very cozy relationship on air, but that is what is expected. But they were very careful behind the scenes to keep their affair secret. The producers at ‘GMA’ are shocked to hear they are having an affair,” a source told Page Six. After the news broke, Amy deactivated her Instagram. T.J.’s Instagram was already deactivated. On Dec. 1, Amy and T.J. arrived to work together and made no mention of their romance. The same day, an insider told People magazine that Amy had “nothing to hide.” Added the insider, “This was two consenting adults who were each separated. … The relationship didn’t start until after that.”

Divorce settled
Finally! Nearly two years after Kim Kardashian filed to end her marriage — and eight months after a judge declared her legally single — the reality TV star and Kanye West have settled their divorce. According to TMZ, Kim and Kanye will get joint custody with “equal access” to their four children, but the Skims founder will still have the kids the majority of the time, as she does now. Further, Kanye’s share of monthly child support is set at $200,000, which he will have to wire to Kim every month. Continuing with the 50/50 theme of the settlement, Ye will be responsible for half of their kids’ security expenses and half of their educational expenses. The settlement comes just weeks before the case was set to go to trial, and there was some doubt as to whether Ye would even participate. In other Kanye news, he praised Nazi leader Adolf Hitler on “Infowars” on Dec. 1. “I like Hitler,” he said. Even host and conspiracy theorist Alex Jones was stunned by Ye’s declaration.
R.I.P., Songbird
On Nov. 30, Fleetwood Mac’s Christine McVie passed away at 79 from a “short illness,” her family confirmed. Christine joined Fleetwood Mac in 1970 just before the influential group rocketed to mainstream success. The vocalist and keyboardist was behind some of the group’s biggest hits including “Don’t Stop,” “You Make Loving Fun” and “Little Lies.” A statement from Christine’s family said she “passed away peacefully at the hospital.” It continued, “She was in the company of her family. We kindly ask that you respect the family’s privacy at this extremely painful time, and we would like everyone to keep Christine in their hearts and remember the life of an incredible human being, and revered musician who was loved universally.”
Trial over
A mistrial was declared in the Danny Masterson rape case on Nov. 30 after the jury remained deadlocked. The “That ’70s Show” actor was charged in 2020 with forcibly raping three women in separate incidents occurring between 2001 and 2003. The Associated Press reported that jurors voted seven times on Nov. 29 and Nov. 30 without reaching a consensus on any of the three counts. The judge set a retrial date for March 2023. “While we are disappointed with the outcome in this trial, we thank the jurors for their service,” the district attorney’s office said in a statement. “We also want to give our heartfelt appreciation to the victims for bravely stepping forward and recounting their harrowing experiences.” Danny has maintained his innocence.
Angry locals
Jason Momoa is catching the ire of locals on Hawaii’s big island after it was announced that a farmers market would be shut down for a few weekends due to production of his Apple TV+ show “Chief of War.” TMZ reported that vendors who sell products at the Kaimu Farmer’s Market — which is only open on Saturdays — were informed that the area would be occupied by film crews on consecutive Saturdays in December, which is typically the most profitable month for them. To make matters worse, it seems that vendors will not get reimbursed for revenue lost during filming. Jason was called “out of touch” as many claimed he was cutting into their livelihoods.
Health issues
Al Roker is still in the recovery stage. On Nov. 30, Page Six reported that the “Today” weather guru was rushed to the hospital in an ambulance just one day after he was released following treatment for blood clots in his leg and lungs. “Al was taken from his home in a stretcher back to the hospital on Friday, the day after Thanksgiving,” a source told the outlet. “His condition was worrying, but once back in the hospital, he improved.” Al, 68, was slated to be replaced by Mario Lopez at the Nov. 30 annual “Christmas in Rockefeller Center” tree lighting event, according to the event page. The previous week, he missed the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade for the first time in 27 years, as he was still under the care of his doctors. But as he told fans on Instagram at the time, he was able to leave the hospital and join his family for a holiday dinner at home. He’s been away from the “Today” show for four weeks because of his latest health issues.
