Scarlette Douglas, 35, admitted she was “crying her eyes” out following her emotional exit from A Place In The Sun, speaking exclusively to Express.co.uk on the day her last episode aired. The I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! star also went on to speak about her toughest gig to date.

Scarlette is taking part in ITV’s I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! this year after leaving her longtime gig on A Place In The Sun back in August.

At the time she said: “I’ve been quite emotional about it, actually. It’s the end of an era – after seven years!”

“I probably will be crying my eyes out like: ‘It’s the last one!’ I’ll say that, and then tomorrow there’ll be a repeat on… But I think, because it’s the last new one, that’s what makes it so special.”

The star also opened up about her most challenging gig to date when it came to finding someone their dream home.

“We had a very tough one in Menorca,” Scarlette remembered. “A young couple, they were lovely.

“And their budget didn’t quite stretch to what they wanted, so after property three we said, ‘Look, this is the reality of what you can get with your current budget…

“‘But if you can up that budget, we’ll do our best to try and find something else.’

“And they managed to speak to their family, who gave them a bit of a loan,” she continued.

“And we managed to find them this house that was exactly what they’ve dreamed of.

“And it was a beautiful detached property with a gorgeous swimming pool, land at the back and a little outhouse.

“But it was so difficult because me and the assistant producer, we were up until about two in the morning trying to find properties and speaking to estate agents.

“There was one particular agent that was up all night with us, who was like, ‘I found this one that’s not actually on the market yet, but if I can speak to them first thing in the morning, we can get in there.’

“And we did!” Scarlette said excitedly. “We managed to get in, and they got the place and they’re still living there and they’re super happy.

“I think that’s probably been one of the most difficult episodes, because you’re also trying to work with people’s expectations of what they can and can’t get for their budget.

“And a lot of the shows are always repeating, so when you’re looking at shows that maybe aired two years old, you could obviously get a whole lot more for your money than you can now.

“So it’s kind of managing expectations, but also trying your best to find couples exactly what it is that they want,” she concluded.

Since leaving A Place in the Sun, Scarlette has teamed up with her brother Stuart to present a new show for Channel 4 called Worst House on the Street.

Worst House on the Street follows Scarlette and Stuart’s work as property developers as they help families transform run-down houses into dream homes without breaking the bank.

Watch Scarlette & Stuart Douglas present Worst House on the Street on Channel 4, Tuesdays at 8pm.

I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! continues tonight at 9pm.
