Samantha Barks' wedding was like a fairy-tale. Her marriage to stage star Alex Stoll took place in Chianti, Tuscany – a lavish affair which included personalised cocktails, a four-course Italian menu and stunning tableware, which featured gold plates, mini menus and olive oil favours.

The spectacular wedding breakfast took place on the hilltop of the Capannelle Wine Resort under fairy lights and overlooking breathtaking views of the Italian countryside.

Guests enjoyed a four-course Italian meal of tomato flan, truffle risotto, beef with potatoes, topped off with lemon sorbet, which was washed down with wine from the winery's house vino.

While the drinks reception featured personalised cocktails. The Manhattan, a nod to Alex's American roots, and the Celtic Comfort, a concoction of Irn Bru and southern comfort, a favourite of Samantha's family from the Isle of Man.

After-ceremony snacks included meze nibbles of meats and cheeses, while a Prosecco stand was on hand. As guests enjoyed the refreshments, an artist drew portraits of the guests and a saxophonist provided the music.

As the evening reception commenced, the newlyweds were treated to an Italian cake show – a tradition in which the dessert is made in 10 minutes – and a gelato stand was open for guests to enjoy some ice-cream.

Speaking of their beautiful day, Samantha told us of the celebration, which was exclusively covered by OK!:“It was everything we could ever hope for, and so much more.

"You plan every intricate detail of a wedding and hope it all happens the way it’s supposed to, and it did."

She continued: "There was nothing I would change from the day, it all went perfectly and smoothly, but what you can’t prepare yourself for is everyone you love being there and celebrating with you, and the atmosphere of that. It took us by surprise.”

Guests, 50 in total, flew in from all over to celebrate the special occasion – some coming from as far as New York and San Francisco in the US.

While Samantha's dress was one of the stars of the show. Picked at quite the last minute, the while floaty gown wasn't too dissimilar from the dress she wears on stage in Frozen: The Musical.

Talking us through her bridal-wear, the Elsa actress said: “When I wear Elsa’s dress every day for my day job, it’s quite difficult to then have a rational idea of what is a 'princess dress'.

"But I felt very much like me in the dress, which is great. I spend my life being other people and other characters so, on my wedding day, I wanted to feel, ‘That’s so me’.”
