Avatar: The Way of Water took so long to film that Jack Champion, who plays Spider in the movie, grew up on set and he can see the difference in his looks throughout different scenes.
The 18-year-old actor was only 12 years old when he landed the coveted role in the movie. He was between 14 and 16 while filming!
In a new interview with THR, Jack was asked if it feels like a “time capsule” to watch the movie now.
“In a way, yes. In every scene I see myself in, I remember how I felt on that day. So it is kind of a time capsule, but at the same time, I can also turn that off and just get lost in my enjoyment of the movie and story. So it’s cool to see my teenage years onscreen, but I can still get immersed in the world of Pandora,” he said.

Jack also says he can spot where he is older and younger!
“Yeah, it’s weird. In some scenes, I’m 14, and then in the next scene, I’m 16. So I’m like, ‘Wait a second, I look slightly more pudgy.’ And then in another scene, I’m 2 inches taller with abs. (Laughs.) It’s a little weird sometimes,” he said.
Jack says that the first scene he did in live-action was the torture scene, so he was the youngest there!
