Jamie Lynn Spears’ I’m A Celeb stint could ‘change conversation’ around Britney

DWTS: Jamie Lynn Spears dances the Cha Cha

Jamie Lynn Spears will be trying to shift the conversation away from her sister, Britney Spears, during her time in the jungle even after Ant and Dec introduced her as “best known for having one of the most famous siblings in the world”.

During her own introduction, the Zoey 101 star declared she is best known “for being an actress and a singer”, saying she had “been doing it since I could basically walk”.

The 32-year-old will reportedly be using tactics like this throughout I’m A Celebrity as PR guru Matt Yanosky told The Mirror she “wants to talk about anything but Britney at the moment”.

He added: “Reality TV could be so sensational, it could change the conversation.”

Additionally, Britney has catapulted her family name into headlines across the world over the last month after the release of her memoir The Woman In Me, which lifted the lid on her 13-year-long conservatorship and dropped some bombshells not even the more dedicated fan had suspected.

Matt noted Jamie could simply be capitalizing on her surname with “just right” timing for viewers “to care about” the former Disney star.

However, he also warned after Britney made a few choice comments about her sister’s actions during the conservatorship, her fans could be out to get Jamie while she’s in the jungle and make her “life hell”.

After the first episode, Matt’s predictions may not be entirely on point as viewers voted YouTuber Nella Rose and controversial politician Nigel Farage to take part in a Bushtucker trial, one of the most lamented challenges on the show.

PR expert Kieran Elsby also noted it would be “difficult” for Jamie to use her ITV stint for “revenge” after Britney released her bombshell memoir last month, swaying public opinion in her favour with some sensational and dark claims about her life outside of the spotlight.

One such claim saw Britney dubbing her younger sister a “b***h” during their childhood, saying it was clear who “ruled the roost” at their Louisiana home while the Toxic hitmaker was on the road.

I’m A Celebrity continues tonight on ITV at 9pm.
