Strictly Come Dancing stars Janette Manrara and Aljaz Skorjanec have revealed in a brand new interview that they are desperately hoping for a baby brother or sister for daughter Lyra, who is just three months old.
Janette turns 40 next month, but after falling pregnant naturally with her first child, she’s hoping she can now welcome another baby now too.
“Who knows what will happen next year? We’d love for Lyra to have a brother or sister,” the Strictly pro exclaimed to Prima magazine.
Aljaz added: “You never know. You pray for it, and hopefully it will happen.
“We obviously want more children, but after the process we went through to have Lyra, you quickly learn there are never any guarantees in life.”

Meanwhile, Aljaz, who admits he’s always wanted to be a father, is relishing the stay-at-home dad role and “savouring every moment” with his daughter while Janette is busy hosting Strictly spin-off show It Takes Two.
However, the new mum has had her fair share of tearful moments, with three-hour train delays earlier in the month leaving her stranded in London, and preventing her from returning home to Cheshire on time to be with Aljaz and Lyra.
The busy star will also be juggling motherhood with performing in the couple’s Dancing in a Winter Wonderland tour next month, but she’s taking it in her stride.
Revealing what she’s discovered about combining her career with parenting, she explained: “Number one, love is the most important thing to give your child and, number two, you need to plan. You can no longer wing anything!”

The emotional star added that she “still can’t believe” she has had the fortune to become a parent.
“I remember sitting at It Takes Two a couple of years ago saying, ‘Hopefully we fall pregnant, hopefully we can conceive,’ and then I’d take another test and it would be negative again, so it got to the point where we thought we’d have to deal with different ways of doing this,” she reflected.
“We went through the whole process of IVF. I took the hormones, we did the tests and I was about to start the injections – and then Lyra decided to pop up.’’
The spontaneous and unexpected natural arrival left both delighted – and Janette shared the news with her family by slipping her ultrasound scan inside a card.

“I think they thought I was going to take them to Disneyland, but instead it said, ‘Dear Grandma, Grandpa, Auntie and Uncle, Merry Christmas from the newest member of the family’. And there was the scan picture… we were all crying,” she confided.
Meanwhile, the family’s 2023 “Christmas miracle” is having the opportunity to take little Lyra to Slovenia to spend quality time with her paternal grandparents, after breaking the pregnancy news in Janette’s parents’ home city of Miami, Florida.
Aljaz has allowed dance to take a back seat while he gets to know the new arrival – but he’s been getting in a bit of practise courtesy of his little girl.
Insisting that she’s “already dancing” and twirling around the kitchen with him, he joked: “Our Christmas show is coming up [but] the most dancing I did for a long time was with Lyra.”
