Jennifer Aniston details use of salmon sperm facial in bid to stop ageing

Jennifer Aniston shares workout routine

Jennifer Aniston has revealed she once tried a facial which contained salmon sperm, but didn’t rate the result.

In a bid to keep her youthful looks, the 54-year-old said she would try anything once so decided to give the bizarre method, recommended by an aesthetician, a shot.

At first, the actress admitted she was a little apprehensive and queried: “First of all, I said, ‘Are you serious? How do you get salmon’s sperm?’”

Salmon sperm is said to be a Korean beauty ingredient that has risen in popularity when it comes to skincare.

UK-based clinic Radiance Aesthetic Clinic has said it can help with the likes of acne, scarring, stretch marks and dark circles under the eyes.

Despite this, Jennifer said she didn’t notice the difference after having it done.

Speaking to The Wall Street Journal, the Friends icon went on to say that she swore by her weekly peptide injections to help with the affects of ageing.

Additionally, she admitted to adding Vital Proteins Collagen Peptides into her morning cup of coffee or smoothie last year.

The Murder Mystery star is also no stranger to a workout session which includes resistance bands and pilates, although recently admitted she no longer does intense cardio.

She told Women’s Health: “I’ve stopped doing 45 minutes to an hour of just constant cardio, running, and boot camp because my knees can’t take it anymore, and it’s just not efficient.”

Instead, the actress now focuses on shorter sessions which she says can still have the same impact

“You really can get an efficient workout with just a good 20 minutes if that’s all the time you have, even 10 minutes of doing something that gets your body moving. I just find comfort in that,” she added.

Ageing is something Jennifer is embracing, however recently admitted being told “you look great for your age” drives her “bananas”.

“I can’t stand it,” she told Vogue Magazine.

“That’s a habit of society that we have these markers like, ‘Well, you’re at that stage, so for your age’… I don’t even understand what it means.”

The Murder Mystery star went on to say her body, mind and spirit were “100 per cent” better in her 50s than in her 20s.

“My family lives a long time, especially my dad’s side — I want to be thriving; I don’t want to just be alive,” she said.

Jennifer’s father Jon Aniston died at the age of 89 last year, five years after her mother Nancy’s death.

As part of her statement at the time, she said of her dad: “You were one of the most beautiful humans I ever knew.

“I am so grateful that you went soaring into the heavens in peace – and without pain. And on 11/11 no less! You always had perfect timing.”
