Jeremy Kyle sparks outrage as he shockingly jokes Harry should ‘throw Meghan down a well’

Jeremy Kyle has sparked backlash after joking that Prince Harry should throw Meghan Markle "down a well" during a debate about the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

During his regular TalkTV slot, Jeremy was joined by royal commentators Kinsey Schofield and Emily Andrews, with whom he discussed the controversial royals.

Kinsey began: "People are done with the whinge-fest, they are done with the crying. The way these people use victimhood as currency, I think culturally we are tired of it.

"It's going to end soon, so they better get out of it what they can as the American people are really getting tired of their complaining and crying."

Talk quickly turned to Prince Harry's claim that he sees his book "like an act of service" to which Emily said: "If you really want to perform a service for charity, go to Lesotho, it is safe there.

"Go and build wells, build a school and go and teach English…"

In response to this, Jeremy quipped: "Throw [Meghan] down one."

Viewers quickly took to social media to share their thoughts on the comment, with many suggesting that the broadcaster may have taken it to far with his joke.

One wrote: "Advocating violence against a woman is NEVER a joke. #ToxicBritishMedia must stop!" and another added: "Another lovely man our country can be proud of. Disgusting."

"Jeremy Kyle, whose got a great track record. Remind yourself why he lost his own show. Another ‘just a joke’ to cover up a vicious hateful, misogynistic statement. As predicted, Clarkson emboldened others of his ilk to fantasise and voice their vitriol about harming a woman" argued a third.

And a forth simply said: "Whatever you guys wish on Meghan, may God give it back to you in abundance."

The remarks come just days after Harry sat down for an interview trauma expert Dr Gabor Maté, where candidly about his childhood and life within the royal family.

During the interview Harry insisted that he's “never looked for sympathy” or considers himself to be a victim. "I definitely don’t see myself as a victim", he said before adding that he wanted to help others by "sharing my story”.

During the paid for ticketed event, which was filmed at the Sussexes' California home, the Prince also went on to share how he was terrified of losing the memory of him mum while taking part in counselling sessions about his childhood trauma.

Harry said: "I thought if I went to therapy that it would cure me and that I would lose whatever I had left, whatever I had managed to hold on to of my mother. I didn't lose that, it was the opposite."

"I turned what I thought was supposed to be sadness to try to prove to her that I missed her into realising that she really just wanted me to be happy and that was a huge weight off my chest.”
