Jeremy Renner posted a new recovery update on his Instagram Story Friday, thanking the ICU team who have helped him begin his healing journey.

The Marvel star, 52, has remained in the Intensive Care Unit of his hospital ever since his devastating snow plow accident on January 1.

Renner was run over by a seven-ton snow plow on New Year’s Day as he worked to free a trapped family member from the snow covering his Lake Tahoe ranch.

‘Thank you Renowned Medical ICU team for beginning this journey,’ wrote the Hawkeye star, captioning an image of him in his hospital bed surrounded by the ICU’s medical team.

This latest recovery update follows a video that Jeremy posted to social media from his ICU bed on Thursday.

Renner was bruised under the eye in his video and seemed to be sedated as his sister massaged his scalp and joked: ‘You’re so sexy.’

The Hawkeye actor slurred his words as he replied that it was his first shower and he’s ‘definitely weak or something. Gross.’

He captioned the video: ‘A “not no great” ICU day, turned to amazing spa day with my sis and mama. Thank you sooooo much.’

The actor, who was left in critical condition following the accident, has had two surgeries that involved metal pins being placed around his leg. As of Tuesday, he was awake and talking, a source told DailyMail.com.

At that point, he posted a picture of himself in his hospital bed with visible bruising on his face as he thanked well-wishers for their ‘kind words.’

‘Thank you all for your kind words. Im (sic) too messed up now to type. But I send love to you all,’ he captioned the picture.

Authorities have said Renner tried to use his 14,330-pound snow plow to help free a family member with a personal vehicle that was stuck in the snow.

The actor got out of the vehicle to speak with the unidentified family member, during which time, Washoe County Sheriff Darin Balaam said, ‘it was observed that the PistenBully [snow plow] was starting to roll.’

The star received love and support from Luke Skywalker himself as the Mark Hamill sent well-wishes to Renner on Twitter

He tried to get back in to the vehicle, but was soon run over, Balaam said at a news conference Tuesday afternoon.

A 911 call made in the aftermath indicates that the right side of the actor’s chest collapsed and his upper torso was crushed.

The emergency log, obtained by TMZ, also included notes from the accident that said Renner could be heard moaning in the background of the call and was experiencing heavy bleeding from his head and other injuries.

The injuries to his chest and torso were reportedly making it difficult for the Marvel star to breathe before he was airlifted to a nearby hospital from the scene of the accident at about 10am on Sunday morning near his home in the Reno area.

Neighbors had tried to help Renner immediately after, the sheriff has said, coming out with towels and giving him first aid — but none of them were doctors.

Balaam added that police do not suspect foul play, nor does he suspect Renner was at all impaired at the time.

The Sheriff’s department is currently investigating the accident and have the snow plow in its possession.

Renner spoke with emergency services before being airlifted to a nearby hospital just before 10am local time.

Renner’s family was visiting for a New Year’s celebration but the high-altitude hamlet near Mount Rose, Nevada, where he lives had been buried under five feet of snow. Residents had been without power and running water for two days when the accident occurred on New Year’s Day.

Renner – who has his own fire truck, plow, and other heavy machinery – took a snowcat out to help clear away some of the snow early on January 1.

‘He had some family up here. His nephew was with him. They shut down the mountain because all the people skidded out,’ the source, who has known Renner for several years, told DailyMail.com.

‘He was just plowing the road to go snow skiing. He got out and then the machine took off. The machine jumped out of gear. And then he did something to try to get in it and he got caught up and it ran him over.

Renner is best known for his role as Hawkeye in the Marvel Cinematic Universe

‘He got quite a few wounds on him but he’s ok now. He’s talking and everything, though he’s got some recovery to do. They put a pin in his leg,’ said the source.

Two neighbors said he was operated on at Renown Regional Medical Center, known as the best hospital in northern Nevada with top orthopedic specialists.

The source added that conditions were extreme this weekend at his $3.25million home near Mount Rose Highway, near the city of Reno.

‘Two days ago [the snow] was five feet deep, his workers had to hike in,’ they said. ‘They’ve had no power since Saturday at 4pm.’

TMZ has previously reported that Renner’s snowcat’s safety features failed and caused it to roll over Renner’s leg, around a quarter of a mile from his home. The machine was built by the German manufacturer Kassbohrer.

The snow cat is currently in the possession of the Washoe County Sheriff’s office

Renner plays Hawkeye, a sharp-shooting member of the superhero Avengers squad in Marvel’s sprawling movie and television universe.

He is beloved by fans across the country, and especially children in Washoe County who have seen the celebrity around the area for years and when he participates in local events.

He scored back-to-back Oscar nods for The Hurt Locker in 2010 and The Town in 2011. His portrayal of a bomb disposal specialist in Iraq in The Hurt Locker helped turn him into a household name.

The Avengers in 2012 cemented him as part of Marvel’s grand storytelling ambitions, with his character appearing in several sequels and getting its own Disney+ series, Hawkeye.
