Jennifer Lopez, 53, and Ben Affleck, 50, are preparing to exchange vows today in a much-anticipated second wedding ceremony. However, the couple suffered a scare yesterday ahead of their big day as an ambulance had to be dispatched to their wedding venue.

It has been reported that Ben’s mother, Christopher Anne Boldt, suffered an incident at the actor’s Georgia estate, effectively needing medical assistance.

According to reports, Christopher required stitches after taking a tumble off a dock and cut her leg.

According to DailyMail.com, Jennifer and Ben were later seen outside the hospital, with Ben smoking a cigarette.

Sources, however, claimed that the incident was “not serious”.

Pictures seen by the Mirror purportedly showed Christopher being wheeled out of the building, with Ben and Jennifer following closely behind.

It was reported that the ambulance arrived at the estate at noon and spent 20 minutes there before it left.

Ben and Jennifer are set to tie the knot today a month after their intimate Las Vegas wedding.

The pair met on the set of Gigli in 2002 with a highly-publicised romance soon following.

Ben popped the question that same year but the couple broke up in 2004, calling off their engagement.

The wedding date was initially set for September 2003, with Jennifer revealing that she would change her name to Jennifer Affleck.

The wedding was sensationally postponed just days before the September date.

But four months later, in early 2004, the couple announced their break up.

Almost two decades later, in April this year, Ben proposed again to the Jenny From The Block hitmaker.

Ben has kept the relationship relatively private, but told Adweek he is “in awe” of Jennifer and the effect she has.

He said: “Jennifer has inspired a massive group of people to feel they have a seat at the table in this country.”

Ben also admitted that her unique effect on people is one he “will never know”.

Earlier this year, Jennifer looked back on her love life as she explained her unexpected reunion with her former fiancé.

“At the time I thought they were failures, but I think that was necessary for growing into something better,” she told People magazine.

“I felt tremendous amounts of failure, in my marriage and other relationships I tried really hard to make work.

“So those failures hit me hard.”
