Strictly Come Dancing star and OK! columnist Judi Love has given us her thoughts on the newly-announced pairings for the upcoming dance extravaganza.
Writing in her column this week, Judi also discusses the current cost of living crisis – made worse by the prospect of an unexpectedly cold winter – as well as the rumours that she's set to appear on the forthcoming series of I'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! and Vogue editor Edward Enninful's exciting new memoir. Strictly is back!
Strictly is back on our screens, baby! The first week is set to kick off to its usual incredible start and I just want to wish a huge congratulations to all the contestants taking part this year.
I’d love to tell you that it gets easier every week… but that’s just not true. What I can promise you however, after taking part last year, is that I felt happier, healthier and more confident than ever – not to mention the pounds we all dropped!
I also want to give a special shoutout to my former Strictly partner Graziano – he’s going to do a wonderful job with his new partner Kym and she’s very lucky to have him as her instructor – as well as my Loose Women sister Kaye, who I know is so excited for the journey ahead!
Winter is coming
It seems that summer 2022 is officially over. The wind has turned, the woolly jumpers are out, and the hot chocolate is cooking on the stove!
Even though I’m definitely much more of a summer-lover, I do love it when you get those first Christmas feels.
I adore coming home from work in the dark of winter after a long day and snuggling on the sofa with my loved ones, spending time with the kids and watching a black and white movie.
Something needs to be done
Speaking of winter being on the way, what is worrying me this year is the current cost of living crisis. There are going to be thousands of people across the UK who can’t afford to turn the heating on, or draw themselves a hot bath to warm up due to the cost of bills being on the rise.
It’s a true tragedy. The Government needs to step up their game and make some real changes, because more lives than ever are currently at risk this Christmas.
No, thank you!
With all the rumours circulating about the upcoming series of I’m A Celebrity, I’ve been getting so many messages asking me to take part. I’m all for trying new things, but I’d need a lot of hypnotherapy sessions before I agree to that!
I’m most excited about the fact that the show is moving back to Australia after all this time – it’s going to be so much fun seeing how the contestants handle the spiders, crocodiles and creepy crawlies!
I feel like the Aussie climate might tempt more celebs to take part this year, so I can’t wait for the cast list to be announced!
Strike a pose
Earlier this month, Editor-in-Chief of British Vogue magazine Edward Enninful released his very first memoir ‘A Visible Man’ and I for one cannot wait to get my hands on a copy!
I find Edward’s life extremely intriguing – he emigrated from Ghana to London at a very young age and was inspired by his seamstress mother to venture into fashion.
Not only has Edward paved the way for so many celebrities by giving them the spotlight to shine, but he’s also an example of someone that never gave up in their efforts to make it to the top spot.
