"Although I’m tired and hormonal as I sit here now I couldn’t be more grateful, feeling so lucky, what a special gift new life is, the most precious ever.

"Thank you universe, do much can change in a year, for anyone who may be struggling try and hold on to the hope."

Kate and Rio shared the happy news that their daughter had been born two weeks ago, on an Instagram post, writing: "Shae Ferdinand. 10.7.23. Our strong little girl".

Shae means "stately, gift" and has a Game of Thrones connection. In the hit TV series Shae is a "camp follower" who becomes the loyal mistress to Tyrion Lannister while he is serving as Hand of the King.

The baby girl is the second child for the couple, who are also proud parents to two-year-old son Cree.

In a picture announcing the happy news, the days old baby was dressed in a white onesie. Her little hands were outstretched, while her four bigger siblings held onto her.

Kate and Rio first started dating back in January 2017 and went public with their romance in August 2017 during a family holiday to Portugal.

In 2018 the couple got engaged in a romantic proposal with Rio's children present while on holiday in Abu Dhabi.

A year later the couple tied the knot in a stunning ceremony exclusively covered by OK! magazine in Turkey.
