The Duchess of Cambridge,Kate Middleton, has been photographed leaving her home to pick up her three children from school amid growing concerns over the Queen’s health.

She has been seen driving from her home in Windsor to collect her kids from Lambrook school, near Ascot.

The schoolwelcomed the three Cambridge children, George, aged nine, Charlotte, seven and Louis, four, for their first day this morning.

However, what should have been a pleasant day for the Cambridges has taken a dark turn as the Queen has been placed under medical supervision in Balmoral, with many members of the royal family rushing to Scotland to be with her.

Those who made the journey on an RAF jet include theDuke of Cambridge, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, The Duke of York and The Earl and Countess of Wessex.

Prince Charlesand Camilla were already be at Balmoral, as the couple had been residing in the nearby Birkhall estate.

ThePrincess Royalis also said to have already been at Balmoral with her mother.

The news of the queen’s medical emergency follows months of concerns with Her Majesty missing a number of events that would usually be staple events on the Monarch’s calendar.

She missed the Braemar Gathering highland games last weekend, which she usually attends each year.

And during her Platinum Jubilee celebrations this summer, the Queen only travelled to Buckingham Palace twice, first for her Trooping the Colour balcony appearance and then for a finale after the pageant.

The news of the Queen’s health concerns was announced in a statement by Buckingham Palace:

“Following further evaluation this morning, the Queen’s doctors are concerned for Her Majesty’s health and have recommended she remain under medical supervision. The Queen remains comfortable and at Balmoral.”

Following this announcementPrince William began the journey to Balmoralwhile Kate remained at home with their children.

In a statement Kensington Palace said: "The Duchess of Cambridge has remained in Windsor as Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis are on their first full day at their new school."

Issuing a statement over the news, new Prime Minister Liz Truss has said "the whole country will be deeply concerned by the news from Buckingham Palace this lunchtime".

Truss added: "My thoughts – and the thoughts of people across our United Kingdom – are with Her Majesty The Queen and her family at this time.”

Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer said he is “deeply worried” by the news from Buckingham Palace and added that he is hoping for the Queen’s recovery.

He tweeted: “Along with the rest of the country, I am deeply worried by the news from Buckingham Palace this afternoon.
