As a senior royal and busy mum-of-three, Kate Middleton would be forgiven for not prioritising her workout routine.
However, the Princess of Wales has revealed the unusual way she keeps fit despite her hectic schedule.
During a reception at Hampton Court Palace, the 41-year old told England’s Wheelchair Rugby team that she was a fan of trampolining and regularly joins the children outside on one before school.
The lavish event celebrated the team’s recent victory over France, their first since the tournament began in 2008.
Kate also spoke about how she, her husband Prince William and their children had watched the final together, during which England claimed a narrow win with a score of 28-24.
Joking with the team about their recent win, she quipped: "You've set the bar high, haven't you? Which is good."
The Princess then added that her youngest child, Prince Louis, has become rugby obsessed in recent years as he competes with his older brother, George.
She told the England squad: "We’re always slightly competitive with each other….They all love sport ….They are at an age where they just love running around."
Speaking about her own workout routine, the Princess continued: "I do it all: whenever I can squeeze in exercise, I do….even jumping on the trampoline with the children before school."
Sporty Kate has always led an active lifestyle, with the senior royal being a keen hockey player as a teenager.
Eager to put the princess through her paces, the England team then invited Kate and her family to join them at a future training session.
As the new patron of the Rugby Football League, Kate was thrilled by the opportunity to train with the team.
"I’d love to come and play….There’s no excuse now….” she said, adding: “We’re going to have to have a family training session."
It seems the upcoming session would be a dream come true for Louis, who has begun playing tag rugby – according to the team’s coach, Tom Coyd.
The head coach was told about the little boy’s love of the sport as his mother greeted the team, their family and trainers during the event.
“[Kate] said Louis is doing tag rugby at school. She was saying that it is quite basic at the minute, that he is just getting to grips with the passing and the running around.” he told the press.
"But when you are four-and-a-half you just want to get the ball and run in any direction," he added. "She said it would be great for us to go and do an engagement session at the school where her children attend."
It seems little Louis is taking after fellow royal rubgy player Mike Tindall, who was part of the World Cup-winning team back in 2003.
