ITV cancels popular documentary show after EIGHT series | The Sun

ITV HAS cancelled a popular documentary show after eight series on air.

The broadcaster has axed Heathrow: Britain's Busiest Airport in a move that will leave aviation enthusiasts devastated.

The show went behind the scenes of Heathrow Airport, as camera crews followed the hardworking staff throughout their day.

Viewers watched as staff at the commuter hub went about their day-to-day duties.

The documentary was narrated by household names – including Julie Walters and Joanna Lumley.

Its recent series saw a dramatic ratings drop, with just 1.5 million viewers watching.

This compares to a healthy 3.3 million fans who tuned in for series seven back in 2021.

ITV launched the programme back in 2015 with a total of 53 episodes produced.

Due to the Coronavirus pandemic, filming for the seventh series was severely disrupted -with the first half of the season shot a whole year apart from the remaining episodes.

Series six, seven and eight are currently available to stream now on ITVX.
