In 2017, Katie Price's mum Amy revealed the heartbreaking news that she'd been diagnosed with the terminal lung condition idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis.
The condition – which causes scarring to the lungs which reduces the sufferer's ability to breathe – currently has no cure. Having now lived with the condition for the last six years, Amy's Mucky Mansions star daughter Katie insists the family matriarch is taking life on the chin and remains positive.
Catching up with us this week to promote the brand new series of her Channel 4 docu-series, mother-of-five Katie explained: "She’s taking each day as it comes. She still nags me every day. The more she nags, the more I know she’s alright!"
In series one of Mucky Mansions, viewers saw Katie’s mum Amy, 71, and sister, Sophie, 33, design the garden room of her incredible West Sussex plot.
At the time, Amy revealed she wanted it to be a room she could be remembered by.
While Katie wasn’t overly keen on the idea, it’s now become one of the most sentimental spots in the house.
"I have to admit, when I have visitors, they always say they love that room. I do like it because as soon as I walk in, I instantly think of my mum and my sister," she explains.
"I’d let them design more. I might get them to do a gym for me. I really want to start working out. Because I don’t drive [due to a driving ban], I’m trying to make it a home that I don’t have to leave. I want to turn one of the rooms into a gym and properly kit it out. We can do that for the third series."
In 2018, Katie – who has son Harvey, 20, with ex-footballer Dwight Yorke, son Junior, 17, and daughter Princess, 15, with former husband Peter Andre, and son Jett, nine, and daughter Bunny, eight, with ex-husband Kieran Hayler – embarked on the epic 26 mile race of the London Marathon for a second time to make her mum proud.
Last year, she posted a sweet tribute to her terminally-ill mum Amy and stepdad Paul on their 34th wedding anniversary.
Posting a photo of Amy and Paul enjoying a day out together, Katie wrote on Instagram: "34 years today this beautiful woman said I do. You are so amazing what you are going through at this present time.
"Love you so, so much. Happy anniversary and many more to come."
She added: Happy anniversary to my gorgeous parents. I love you both so much."
Katie Price’s Mucky Mansion is on Tuesday, 10pm, Channel 4
