Blue Peter host Katy Hill shares snaps of painful-looking face scar FOUR years after suffering accident at home
Katy Hill took to Instagram on Friday to show the healing process of a huge face scar she got in a nasty accident in her own house.
The Blue Peter host, 51, looked nearly unrecognisable as she shared a slew of close-up pictures showing the several stitches on her forehead.
The head injury looked very visible but in the last snap the BBC legend appeared to be finally healing from the domestic accident.
Katy accompanied the post with a long heartfelt caption – explaining how much she felt lucky to still be alive – and how unexpected it was for her to get injured in her own home.
She penned emotionally: ‘WHAT’S IT GONNA TAKE? An accident? A global pandemic? A big life change? What’s YOUR wakeup call gonna be?

‘This was mine. 2019 I was literally stopped in my tracks – a few months before the world was. I thought I was on the way out, and all from bringing the morning fun at home. In my own home. THAT’S what freaked me out.
‘The irony that I’d spent my early career throwing myself out of planes and down skeleton runs and flying fast jets – essentially taking ALL the risks – wasn’t lost on me. Here I was in the ‘safety’ of my own home.’
She continued: ‘It wasn’t until I heard all the horror stories in the hospital that I realised how fortunate I was and how I could easily not be here now. SO grateful for this scar and that I get to have a scar!
‘Now? I don’t take ANY of this journey for granted because it can CHANGE IN A HEARTBEAT. I was already a Coach but THIS moment? Literally ROCKET FUELLED my mission! Talk about ‘rising as the WHOLE DAMN FIRE!’ Don’t waste this thing.
‘Tell me – what is it you plan to do with this one WILD and PRECIOUS life’? My fave quote from Mary Oliver.
‘I’ve got some exciting ways I can help you make sure you’re LIVING it heading your way SOON! Be sure to subscribe to my LIMITLESS LIST newsletter – news incoming – link in bio. Stop living a half life! If you decided to get past fear today, what becomes possible?’
Katy’s accident occurred in 2019 after she tripped while running her daughter up the stairs.
The Blue Peter former stunt was left ‘scarred for life’ as a result of her ‘face-planting’ a toilet at her Oxfordshire home.

The doting mother told The Sun: ‘It was a bad one and I was very grateful that the impact went down the centre of my forehead.
‘As I found out from the doctors, if it had been slightly to either side, I might not be here now because the skull is thin in those parts.
‘The irony isn’t lost on me that I used to jump out of planes and all sorts, and yet I injure myself in this way.’
Katy famously became the first ever civilian to fly with the Red Arrows.
The former presenter landed her dream job on Blue Peter in 1995 and married her childhood sweetheart Andrew Frampton, who she divorced two years later.
She then went on to present on Live and Kicking, Top of the Pops, Football Fever and the Millennium Quiz Show.
She has two children, Kaya, aged 14 and son Akira, 12, with Live and Kicking co-star Trey Farley
Katy now runs a personal development business called Limitless by Katy Hill.
This month, the former children’s TV host opened up about her ‘commitment to helping women thrive’, telling Daily Mail’s Susanna Taylor: ‘When I eventually trained to be a coach I didn’t understand why this stuff wasn’t taught at school.’
She explained she is using everything she learnt in broadcasting and her training as a life coach to help others ‘live all-out’.
She also said that this past year was a huge catalyst for change.
‘We have had time to ask ourselves the big questions,’ Katy added.
