Kevin Costner’s wife moves into luxurious £27k a month mountain home

Kevin Costner’s estranged wife Christine Baumgartner filed for divorce from the actor in May, but the pair have had a less-than-amicable split with the Yellowstone star claiming she was refusing to leave the mansion they used to share together.

However, the Daily Mail reported the former handbag designer has found a new home, within 10 miles of her and Kevin’s former family abode, and at a rental price of £27,000 ($35,000) per month.

The 49-year-old is set to move into the four-bedroom, four-bathroom rental after a court ordered her to vacate the £133.7million ($145million) California compound she used to live in with the 68-year-old and their three children.

Christine’s new home reportedly also features a swimming pool, fire pit and BBQ area in the backyard and is surrounded by green shrubbery creating a barrier between the lavish home and the upscale California community outside.

At the start of their divorce filings, Christine reportedly complained she was struggling to find an appropriate rental in the area.

When Kevin originally requested the court to order his soon-to-be-ex wife to leave their mansion, the focus quickly became what Christine could take with her.

The businesswoman said in court documents obtained by the Daily Mail she wouldn’t “strip” their Santa Barbara home.

In documents seen by Entertainment Tonight, Christine shared, in photos, exactly which items she planned to take with her, mitigating the need for an “emergency hearing” which she said was “uncalled for”.

The documents also noted Christine rented a storage unit to house some of the things she would be taking and assured the Hollywood actor he would “not be harmed” while she removed her items.

Last month a source told the Daily Mail she feared the actor was “out for revenge” and wanted to “humiliate her”.

A judge ultimately ruled Christine would have to confer with Kevin before taking anything from the home and has reportedly been barred from taking art, furniture, furnishings or appliances from the mansion without the actor’s explicit consent.

This came after Kevin accused her of taking items from their former family home “without his knowledge or consent” which she has denied.

The source, a friend of Christine’s, claimed the arduous court battle was not about the mansion but instead, simply Kevin trying to make his estranged wife’s life “a living hell”.

An insider told People last month Christine was staying in the nearby area to avoid disrupting her children’s lives too much.

Kevin and Christine share three children; 16-year-old Cayden, 14-year-old Hayes and 13-year-old Grace, all of whom will be returning to school in the fall.

The mom-of-three has reportedly been “trying to keep everything as normal as possible” for the teens amid her and Kevin’s divorce, which she originally filed for in May.

Daily Express US has contacted Kevin Costner’s representatives for comment.
